Paris attacks: Over 100 dead

Shootings all over Paris, 60 more being held hostage and 3 bombs went off at the France v Germany friendly.

This world is such a fucked up place now. Thoughts and prayers with the people of Paris and France.

I am getting more and more depressed about the world, and the life that my daughter will have living in this fucked up place.

I’m sorry, but it is huge news. I will get back to my pictures and happier stuff in a minute.

140 or so dead now. Dreadful news.

Respite from bleak shit? We talk about all sorts of bleak shit on here. It’s a pretty obviously titled thread, it should be easy to avoid if you so wish.

This would be a pretty strange place if we ignored significant world events…even if they are particularly unpleasant.

How does someone get into France with that amount of weaponry?

Open borders…find a weak link in the “Greater European” outer guard and it will flood in. :lou_angry:

Morocco > Spain > France…easy. Lots more too no doubt.

FFS, when is this shit going to end?

Yep. Thanks for that.

I don’t think we should ignore and I am sure there will be discussions but did it need to be a new thread there and then when we have 24 hour rolling news and will see what is happening. Maybe a little time to stop and think before we start our threads on these type of attacks.

The open borders are a huge issue. I would not be surprised to see check points reintroduced at borders all over Europe. We drive from France to Netherlands every year and our passport is only checked at the ferry in Dover. We can leave the Netherlands and get back to Dover without any checks. Madness with what is going on.

:lou_facepalm_2: :lou_facepalm_2: :lou_facepalm_2: oh dear.

I’ve often thought that football, concert and other event crowds will become targets for attacks. Condensed amounts of people, many of which aren’t local so will be more easily panicked.

So sad what’s happened. European laws need changing. Was reading in the week about a terror suspect being watched in Denmark. The Danish government wanted to deport him but couldn’t due to European laws and the fact his life would be at risk if he was sent home.

Sorry, but if their life is at risk in their own country then they need to behave where they are guests. If not send them back.

je n’ai pas de mots…

He has the words…

Not the first person to express that point of view and it’s one that I agree with *BUT* and it’s a huge but what are we supposed to do?

Do we just sit back, Amish like, and continue to let them wage there single sided war agains tus, killing innocents left, right and centre or do we eradicate them from the face of the earth?

The answer, in sooth, lies somewhere in between. I would love if we could talk with these people but I think they are so entrenched in their views that that would not be possible. After all what makes men walk into a crowded space and just start shooting people who have done nothing to them??

Eurgh the predictably of some people’s hatred is fucking depressing.

idiots already using this as proof that this is why we should deport refugees. I just despair. As the excellently worded post in Bletch shared, these people are fleeing ISIS themselves.

This is really feeling like end times. The Russian plane the other day, Paris, Gatwick has just been shut down. This world is fucked.

Everyone, please look after yourselves. Be with your loved ones. I’m off to sit in a dark room and cry for a few days. I can’t fucking deal with this shit.

Edit: just wanted to clarify this isn’t aimed at BBB, or indeed anyone specific on here. I’ve just seen enough stuff thrown around already elsewhere to turn my stomach.

Sorry Bob.

Not sure, but I am sure that they didn’t do it in the name of most Muslims’ Islam.

Which I guess means we should see them as criminals.

Just organised and dedicated criminals.

inclined to agree.

Also, to them this isn’t one sided. They’ve seen tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of innocent people killed in Afghanistan, Iraq etc.

That’s not to justify this senseless abhorrent behaviour, but it’s more complex than to call it a one sided war.
