Pellegrino: Surely it is time for a change?

Bert van Marwijk or Koeman, both will have a lot to prove, we need a GK, left back to replace Bertrand when he goes, a centreback, a winger maybe two and a goalscorer to replace Pelle.

Stick with MP. MC Car Thief is doing just fine. Bertrand won’t be leaving this January. Had a good game as Captain today. Centre back, agree. winger/goalscorer agree as long as they have pace. That’s what we lack. Pelle? I would rather we replaced Lallana/Mané.

we can’t replace lallana/mane yet as we still have to replace neal heaney and hassan kachloul.

We’re still struggling without Ted Bates.

Interesting comments from a fan

XX seriously lacks ambition to win games! We need the 3 points and he takes off a creative midfield player and puts on a defensive midfielder! What was needed was for XXX to come on up front and get the goal to win the game! Totally no idea on how to change the formation to try and win games! He seems content with the 1 point which is useless!!!

Seems Bazza supports Spurs as well as us…

:lou_eyes_to_sky:

Hasn’t he gone yet?

Surely his team selection yesterday in a must win game is reason enough to get rid of him now?

I was gobsmacked when I saw that team and plenty of others on here said the same.

Then to rub salt in to the wounds our captain admits post game that a ‘slow start cost us’. Well I could have told you that a front four with Long, Davis, JWP and Tadic wasn’t going to inspire a frantic front footed approach. Why Boufal didn’t start I have no idea. Gabby might be off the pace but he still has 3 times as many goals as Long this season and Long is not suited to play against defensive teams when we have most of the ball.

I don’t think this is defeatist when I say that we are running out of games that are winnable to an off colour side as we most certainly are. I am now fairly convinced we are doomed but I would still like to see us put up some sort of fight. Is a new manager our best chance at galvanising this side now? Spark a reaction?

I just don’t want to go down with a whimper. If we go down the manager won’t be the man to guide us through the Championship so we may as well just pull the trigger now?

Obviously the transfer window was a huge disappointment but that’s done now so let’s focus on what we can change.

The man is clueless, the board are clueless, the players are spineless.

It is as simple as that.

I said replace the manager, they won’t as they won’t pay the compo, if we get relegated there’ll be a clause he’ll go free.

The gaos have spent £19 million of millions more the club has and they have and didn’t why? Thats their intention right there for keeping us in the league, on wing and a prayer at best and on an asset strip if relegation occurs, wheres the money?

The board? Well where do I start, Les got lucky and has been riding on that ever since, we’re totally clueless just look at our academies, others are far more successful and yet we churn out videos of how good we are.

We may not be the biggest but lets have an attitude of we are the biggest, we always just roll over, always, thats the Southampton Way, just roll over, just sell, just tell the fans little and most of the little is bollocks.

Southampton -Been fucking the fans over since 1885

Can’t buy a win at the moment, but we don’t look far short of it imo, The little bump up from changing a manager would prob be enough to keep us up. Gonna have to do it Lesley! Pls not Mark Hughes tho pls.

Too short of it? Thats like nearly cumming but failing after 10 pints, you do or you don’t, we can’t cum for shit as we’ve been on the piss since August.

Yeah I don’t think it would take a massive change of fortune to convert some of these D’s into W’s tbh.

Slight pyschological change of attitude or whatever would do it tbh. Like when I’m plowing away and getting tired and still not popped, and she sticks a psychological digit up my rear attitude.

I think they (The Board) will stick with him for the rest of the season, part out of recognition that they fucked up the VVD saga and seem to have some guilt over disrupting the positivity around the squad and partly because there is no-one else out there decent enough who will take the job. I hope he can do something to turn it around, but 4 wins out of 25 is shite and he seems to be bereft of ideas as to how to beat teams who have a defensive set up. In addition to this, the Gao’s seem remote, uninterested and unambitious and Les and Ralph are as popular as a turd in a jacuzzi. So he’ll have to work alongside that too.

Not good times. :lou_sad:

Under your terms of what constitutes a sport and entertainment Pellegrino should be sacked, you didn’t comment on this when I raised it but is this correct?

:lou_lol: Just did a little wee

Think the danger (?) may be that the Goa’s may opt for a full board clear out - whatever else Les is, he has done some good stuff for us these last years, a a board full of those with no football idea is perhaps more scary…

Just gonna put this one out there.

Kat was trying to sell for much of last year. Perhaps ouor aimlessness AFTER the Cup Final had something to do with a disconnect to "Leadership & Vision right back then.

Now Gao is on board and has made it clear he is bothered about improving our property values.

Maybe nobody gives a shit at all in the club, and maybe the sack all of them won’t be the answer either.

And as Bazza would say

I’m not wrong mates.

(Mainly because it’s an idea not an opinion and have seen nothing to disprove it)

Sacking the Officers and Crew of a Rudderless ship may not be the wisest course.

Demanding that they get off their corporate arses and find a way to throw some poor sod over the side to jury - rig a rope to steer with is what they could be better served to do right now.

Gao wants the land aorund the stadium, big kat has her £210 million and the club goes down the drain, her father would be spinning in his grave.

Pellegrino seems like a decent guy and he hasnt been blessed with a great deal of luck. Losing Austin to injury at a crucial time hasnt helped and God knows how many times we have hit the woodwork. In a bit like a reverse Leicester situation where they benefitted from the top clubs having a poor season and they hit the form of their lives, we have hit our poorest form when the bottom half teams are picking up points every week. I would have preferred it if we had given Puel another season and perhaps the Board are now feeling that they were a bit previous and that they should give this one more time. That is all well and good if there are signs that he can turn things around this season but last night was just more of the same and it is clear that the same tactics are producing the same results. If Mauricio isnt prepared to change and the club dont lean on him to change the approach, then it looks like we are going down. That would not be the end of the world. A time to regroup and perhaps shake off some of the boring plastics who have attached themselves to the club over the last few years. There is still time to get out of this mess but the booing and the slagging isnt going to help though.
