#PellegrinoMustGo

After reading that letter, I want Mopy to stay now just so I can watch that bellend cry, live on podcast

Oh wow that is embarrassing.

I do accept that changes need to be made but at the same time I’m pretty certain that the expression ‘never go back’ needs to be taken in to account.

Cortese? :lou_facepalm_2:

Koeman? :lou_facepalm_2: Fantasy land. The way he left leaves little if any chance he could ever return. Not with Les calling the shots. He wasn’t impressed by the club’s ‘ambitions’ so I doubt he’d return. I see him getting the Dutch job soon anyway.

What I will say is that I liked and agreed with Koeman’s in game management. I cannot say the same for Puel or Pellegrino unfortunately. By this I mean, I would be watching a game and got the feeling that the way we were playing wasn’t working or that the opposition were starting to get a foothold in the game that we were narrowly winning. At that time I’d say to myself “I’d bring Long on now to give the opposition something to think about and not let their back four press up as high and pin is in”. What I found with Koeman was that he would more often than not make the same changes as I was thinking about, within a few minutes. This doesn’t mean I was always right or that I think I am a footballing genius or something but at least I could relate to his decision making and wouldn’t blame him if it went tits up. At the moment I swear I am watching different games to MoPe. The team selections, the order in which he brings particular personnel on and off etc. For instance the untouchable Tadic and Redmond and bringing on Austin at Anfield when we were nowhere near their goal. Gabbiadini would have been a better option as he can run and is more mobile than Austin. Bring Austin on when the opposition are sitting deep and we’re having a lot of the ball. I just simply cannot understand what he is trying to accomplish or how he wants us to play.

Moving forwards, in my opinion certainly the squad needs reinvigorating. Will the manager do better with ‘his type’ of players remains to be seen. The question is whether the club will buy the right players to do this without jogging the has beens on first. It seems to fly in the face of the business approach to let players sit on the sidelines on big wages though. History shows a one in one out policy.

Sure we’ve had to do it with a few crocks (Gardos) and flops (Ramirez, Osvaldo) but putting useless tossers like Tadic and Redmond out to pasture and bringing in fresh blood… I just can’t see it happening. Equally I cannot see there being any takers for them.

I don’t want to come across as being overly dramatic but I do worry for us this season. There really are too many problems or failings throughout the side and it has gone way past the point where we can reasonably expect things to suddenly ‘click’.

Sunday is a massive game but Forster’s lack of confidence has become contagious and I honestly cannot see us getting anything from this game. Everton have been pretty shite by all accounts but I still cannot see us overcoming them. Best I can see is a 0-0 or 1-1.

We are way too easy to play against and I expect them to do exactly what everybody else does at St Mary’s and sit deep, frustrate us and nick a goal from a counter attack or set piece. Or a ropey Forster flap or slow motion dive of course.

I think Pellegrino’s thick hair and general height are v.much in his favour and on that basis I would like to give him 3-4 seasons to see if he can turn it round. I wouldn’t want to risk getting a baldy or a dwarf in. We musn’t throw the hair & height out with the bathwater! It there are any short or balds on the coaching staff, we should maybe look to replace them first. See if that helps.

I think you are spot on there my fine Ursine fellow. Too many fat chubby grizzlers playing hoof shit defensive. We need out halll slim handsome exotic manager to provide the entertaining passing. We just need it to be a little more forwards, faster and in the direction of goal

I honestly think if we keep faith and give him 6 or 7 seasons he will turn it round and we will be score goals for fun srs!

I mean, unless he starts losing his hair :lou_angry:

I had a look on Saintsweb the other day and this hashtag campaign seems to have been started by Guan. He used to be the ITK character over there. Is he still ITK? If so, what does he know that means he needs to start a Twitter campaign? Or he is just a bellend?

It was started by him and he used to be ITK but isnt any longer. He used to write very cryptic posts which, I am sure, meant something to him, but little to the rest of us. Basically he is just a bellend. I remember him posting pictures of the dead bodies in the Bataclan Club in Paris not long after the mass shootings on TSW and getting very sniffy when called about the insensitivy of that so soon after the massacre. He has never stumped up his fiver so it shows you how committed he is to a) the cause and b) TSW.

I’m not sure that not paying £5 to post on SWF is an indication of anything other than sense.

I’m not v.on board with bullying around to sack Pellegrino as yet. He might be the problem, I can’t tell. I don’t see what he’s doing on the training ground or what is happening behind the scenes. I’ll let the club make that call I spose. Last game I saw was West Brom and I thought we was Quite Good.

I could prob support a more truthful hashtag that really gets to the crux of the issue like i.e #WeWantMoreWins.

I’d be happy with #idontwanttobeboredagain

So then, Pellegrino. I am struggling with the whole Pellegrino out thing. Not because he is a footballing genius, but 13 games in, has he really had time to change the malaise that clearly started during Claude’s reign? He inherited a team full of promise but for whatever reason, unable to score and on a downward spiral in terms of confidence. Maybe the Fonte situation knocked the stuffing out of the club, closely followed by VVD and his dumming spitting antics. Who knows? Clearly we needed a goalscorer. Clearly those in our budget range do not grow on trees. It appears that we did try and get Vietto in during the summer and for whatever reason it didnt happen. He doesnt seem to be a prolific goalscorer but he would have been fresh blood and maybe enough to make the change upfront that we need. As has been said many times though, it is more about the quality of the final ball to the strikers, or picking the right pass that is missing. So a decent no 10 should be on Santa’s list. If the 89% or so of the pitchfork bearers on TSW get their way and MP is sent packing, what if the next guy also struggles to get this lot motivated and firing? Do we sack him after 13 games too? There is a strange need over there to sack people. In recent times they have wanted Koeman, Puel, Reed, Krueger, Kat Liebherr, Black, Pelle, Redmond, Tadic, JWP, Forster gone. I am sure I have missed some others. 8th and a decent cup final wasnt enough for the mob. Well perhaps a relegation battle and an early exit from all cups will tip a few even further over the edge. We are not a big club. Sunderland, who are a bigger club than us, face a double relegation. We are not immune to that kind of calamity (as we know from the not too recent past). The Championship is full of Southampton sized clubs. What makes us more special than any of those? We have had a really good run over the last few years, we were always going to face a time when we slipped back without a massive injection of cash for higher wages and more expensive players. The academy production line was never going to roll off gems every year. What is it with football supporters and their ridiculous sense of entitlement? Yes, well all hope for better, so do the supporters of every other team and hence many are going to be very disappointed every season. If you cant deal with that, then perhaps you should take up bingo or something. I have experienced many ups and downs since 1966. All I expect is more of the same.

We’re not just asking for the sacking of Pellegrino, Bear. We want Watson and Black gone too. And Les Reed. And Ross Wilson. And we want them replaced with Koeman and Cortese and Jan and Edwin, and Adkins in charge of the Academy. Plus we want Doris the tealady to fuck right off and I want my mum to be given the job.

It’s not much to ask is it? (Oh, and Lawrie Mac given a knighthood, a blowjob, and a £10 gift voucher for Argos, thanks Mr Goa.)
