Petitions

We’re a fairly right-on forum. Thought we should have a thread for any petitions people want to promote.

Your starter for ten. Stop Las Iguanas from forcing its staff to pay to work. Shocking stuff really.

I’m pleased to have signed this one. Disgraceful practice on behalf of the restaurant

That is a terrible idea, but maybe we shouldn’t allow comments on this thread otherwise you lose sight of the petitions!!

Edit :- I just re-read that and I didn’t mean that the petitions thread is a terrible idea, I meant that what las Iguanas is doing is a terrible idea.

I really must start proof reading what I write a bit better…

Let’s play it by ear for a bit, I reckon. We might be solving a problem that doesn’t exist, and creating others later on. There’s no easy way for me to force people to put a petitions link on each post, and I don’t want people getting screamed at if they don’t post a petition.

I think that this should apply to all reptiles, not just iguanas!

Jeez, used to eat there often. Now discovered I was just helping The Man with all those tips I left.

Signed in a suitably outraged manner.

Would like to offer another one, if that’s ok. Granted, there’s a bit of self-interest here. But what the Govt. is trying to do to junior doctors is pretty outrageous. The gf, as a trainee GP, is facing a 30% pay cut. 30%. Let’s remember, we are giving MPs & Tube workers pay rises, but are cutting doctors pay by a third.

Yes, this clearly impacts me, but I’d argue this will impact all of us. It will have a similar impact as it has had to teaching. It will become so hard to recruit doctors, or keep them, that we will end up having to pay doctors to train and we will no longer get the best candidates choosing to follow this career, why on earth would you bother? The best doctors that do train, will shoot off pretty sharpish, especially when pay and conditions in places such as Australia are so much better for doctors. So, anyway if you like, give it your backing.

Are doctors really getting a 30% pay cut for their salary? Why bring transport workers into this? They have a shithot Union and its not a race to the bottom.

A lot of doctors piss off once trained and never pay back what they owe or attempt to, I know this as a mate is doing it, we are not training enough and we are getting cheap doctors from elsewhere, that’s why the nhs couldn’t function without foreign employee’s, we have let down the people living here.
Gp’s can always bump their wage up buying/accepting a bung of a drug company and prescribe their patients that drug instead or do a part private practice with Hugo, loads of potential earnings legitimate or in the shadows in the medical profession.

As always Barry, that is hilarious.

It’s true, do you deny we don’t train enough gp’s?

When we do a large amount move abroad for lifestyle reasons?

We employ a huge amount of foreign workers in the nhs due the lack of opportunities given to all here?

It is because it is cheaper to employ a trained person from abroad than to train unskilled workers but ones with potential, is that wrong?

Are gp’s genuinely going to lose 30% of their salary, how will this be done?

Come on, don’t come out with codshit and not back it up, it’s not because they don’t want to work weekends is it?

I would like to start a petition against dead pigs fellating posh students.

I’ll finish KRG by saying if you believe one worker is more valuable than another then you need to reaccess what party you are in and whether your partner should be going into what was a traditional socialst working environment, for a right on forum we have some right stitch up merchants on here.

Surprised they can get away with it as I thought there were plenty of vacancies in this sector and so emplyees could simply tell them where to go and get a job elsewhere.

Forever lolling at this.

You haven’t answered the questions, its not a salary reduction at all, you need to read the information concerning it better.

Barry - junior doctors are losing money because they will no longer be paid for the (extensive) overtime they do. Overtime is being subsumed into their basic contracts.

Could this be a reason for the shortage of junior doctors and medical students?
