Sotonians, I’m doing a bit more banner work this weekend. One of the things I’m looking to do is get a set of Southampton FC legends in a strip. In a break from other efforts, our banner is going to be dynamic. I aim to create a pool of players, and generate dynamic banners from that pool, in much the same way as our poster banners are dynamically generated.
One of the benefits to this approach is that no-one need be disappointed. By “rotating the squad”, everyone’s favourite Saints player can be featured, even Steve Wood.
So, favourite all time Saints Players please. If you could provide a name , start and end year of career and a preferred image , I’ll do the rest. I can work with names alone, so lazy people need not be deterred.

Imo, the players on the banner should be instantly identifiable as a Southamptonp player, i.e. played most their career with Saints, or had the most successful part of their career with Saints.
Hmmmm, not sure about this one. Firstly he’s not really anything to do with saints. Secondly he’s a fictional character. Thirdly the actor portraying him is not really what we want to associate with Southampton. Happy with your other suggestions though.
