It would be interesting to get some feedback on why people stop posting
Good idea. If all the posters that don’t post could post to let us know why they don’t post then we’ll all be better equipt to encourage them to post in the future (post non-posting enquiry).
Exciting times were dashed in the early hours of Tuesday morning as I processed the application of our 132nd poster. All the initial signs were good. The username, JeremyCync, did share some hallmarks of the spammer usernames, but it could just have easily been a Jeremy Corbyn supporter or critic, perhaps coming here to set the record straight on matters.
It was not to be. JeremyCync fell at the first hurdle, failing the Russian test.
Something of an update. This week, we got hit by a number of spam accounts. Think we had ten in the space of an hour at one point. They will unfortunately have to go unremarked. I deleted them in one fell swoop with a database query.
Last night, we had two new members sign up, both spammers. lundarerara had an email address hotter than the surface of mercury. Turned up on all kinds of blacklists. GloriaLak is presumably another attempt to snare sad, sexually frustrated forum owners with the sniff of a woman. Unlucky both. We never knew ya.
Haven’t updated on this for ages. We continue to be beset by people signing up with dodgy deets. We also lost our first poster last night. Accounts go dormant; we all know that. We even deleted Tokes’ first account back in the day because he spelt his own email address incorrectly and was screaming “why is my email notifications not working, pap?!”. It was reinstated.
Never before have we had a contributing account entirely deleted. Stephen will never quite fit into posters we never knew. He joined; two days later he asked about donner kebabs, and with nowt but “please delete my account”, he was gone.
We knew him all too briefly, which is why the pain is so great.
RIP Stephen. I hope you find that doner kebab you are looking for, everything on.
maybe Stephen was a paparazzi bro. He was gonna grab a doner, and then post an upskirt shot of Kate Middleton’s bush.
Must’ve been bit dissapointment, for Stephen, when he found the papsweb brand is misleading, and frm is less about papping, and more bout how much Barry Sanchez dislikes the EU, and what’s on TedMaul’s ipod.
