Puel dead man walking

He’ll be gone soon, lets get a manager who wants to play the game and not stifle it, we don’t have the talent ot kill off or control a game like that so why does he think we do? Fuck we don’t have enough even to score a bastard goal, mid to lower table and thats it, all that fucking promise from an academy and all we do is sell, shit.

Livid.

Early days b. At times I think he’s been quietly promising. Other times I think he’s been bit unlucky, but then, he has that look about him, you know? I bet he can’t cross the street without treading in dogshit.

He is fucked, he is no man for this League, we’ll pay him a years wages which is £107.12 and fuck him off.

No point sacking the manager. The team is average at best. The problem is at board level and the fact that whilst we’ve replaced players that we’ve sold in the past (your Lovrens for your Aldeweirelds, your Lamberts for your Pelles, your Tadic/Manes for the Lallanas etc.), its never been as dramatic a gulf as the likes of Mane for Redmond.

FUCK IT :slight_frown:

Nothing positive to be honest,

Yeah, I think Bazza’s an absolute fanny too. Pity rather anger though for me.

Who would fucking come here, the Leibherrs want out and are on a managed decline, and the money is only going to the board or the club, not players and wages.

Concentrate on the league

Dunno. Probably saved me spunking 500 quid on the next round.

The club wont get rid of Puel. He is perfect for them. mid table football, no pressure on transfer budget, plays youngsters.

Krugger is too busy fretting about the sex abuse claims as that is a bigger threat to the business model. Real success on the pitch comes second. Keeping players like ambitious Van Dyke looks impossible.

I hate the fact Koman gave us the double talk but maybe he was right and saw he wasnt going to get support from the club to push on.

FOUR STAR

ROMEO

I am ok with all that. I don’t see how we’re gonna get much better than that. It’s the other half of the team. The front half. I’ve got a lot of time for Susan Tadic, and Boufant looks promise, but I can take or leave the rest of them srs. I’d prob sooner leave.

The keeper is bang average and frankly, Yoshida and Fonte (this season) are too (although Yoshida has done his best).

You are right though, the defence has generally been OK. The issue is going forward, and we’re terrible, terrible going forward.

*sigh* depressing.

Still don’t blame the manager though. We’re an average team getting exactly the average results you’d expect. That’s not to say we shouldn’t expect a bit better in general - particularly given that we had money to spend in the summer, but the players on the pitch are pretty darn naff when you get beyond the back four and Romeu.

I was feeling a bit low, but Bearsy has cheered me up *Tips Hat emoticon thing*

Yep. Tadic is the business. But that’s it. Austin needs it on a plate, And he’s not getting it on a plate at the moment,

FOUR STAR is worth an upvote on its own

tbh it’s a bit flattering, Diesel would be a better fit at the moment

This confuses me Barry.

As you say, listen to the press conference. He’s doing exactly what he’s employed to do. Can you imagine the reaction if he walked in and said “That was shit. If the players can’t learn what i’m teaching them, they can all fuck off”. Do you think the board would sit back and say “Cluade is a passionate man and that kind of talk is why we brought him in”.

He’s going nowhere(yet).

This season may well be hard for us, but beat Liverpool* and we’re in a cup final. Europa will be a distant memory then.

*I know it’s looking unlikely at the moment, but this is football and it’s possible. That’s about all the optimism i can manage for now.

P.S Who should we attempt to replace him with? Got to have some idea who you want.

Firstly I would like to point out that I am not calling for his head, not yet anyway.

BUT… his tactics and game management are certainly and justifiably questionable. I’ve bleated on enough about this on other threads so I will spare you all a repeat (slow build up, no tempo, no pressing etc etc). Bottom line, these largely are the same players. For example - the same back five. Their performance has remained largely the same as a consequence = well organised and a lot of clean sheets. However, we have regressed in the attacking areas.

Sure, Mane is a loss as he was direct and quick as fuck but let’s remember, Mane and Pelle were both prone to some prolonged goal droughts. Correct me if I’m wrong (as I cannot be arsed to check) but Tadic the ‘Assist King’ doesnt have many if any assists this term. Admittedly an assist is dependant on somebody else doing their bit (the sticking it in the fucking net part) as well.

So personnel isnt everything and therefore I feel that the manager does need to stake some flack for this situation, the results, and the style of play overall. Set pieces? Do we even bother practicing them anymore? Why havent we scored from a corner yet? We scored bucket loads of headers last year and in theory it should be EASIER to score from such situations this year due to the relative clamp down on grappling and shirt pulling. Yet we are worse. Again, personnel is largely the same. Same CBs, same kick takers (JWP, Tadic, Davis, Bertrand etc). Only Pelle is missing in terms of being a big lump/target.

If people want to look for some positives in this situation then here is the only one of any significance that I can muster… Up until now he has been playing in a withdrawn ‘save your energy lads’ kind of way due to the amount of games from the Europa. (That said I am so fucking bored of that excuse, it aint like its a surprise or that it creeps up on you. Peeps have been whinging about it affecting league form for years). Now we are out, I expect to see an improvement as concentration and energy can be focussed rather than spilt. So the positive is that it is an opportunity for a new beginning and for Claude to show us what he is all about.

If the style continues to be lacklustre then clearly results will continue in this vain and he can be judged fairly. As frustrating as this has been, I dont think we are able to judge him objectively just yet.

True, I took the piss out of him in the summer for being a boring fuck and that is still the case. I haven’t ‘connected’ with him at any real level. I don’t dislike him, I just don’t really care for him either way. He is kind of…‘meh’.

I used to watch Koeman’s press conferences on Youtube on a Thursday afternoon. I found him interesting and quite engaging. Sadly I no longer do that for Claude because he is so insanely dull and dreary.

Let’s just see how the next couple of months plays out.

Listening to Puel in the press conference, he is a yes man and under orders, he’s gone he’s dead in the water, we’re going nowhere with this company man and who got him in? On the cheap, on the fucking cheap, Fonte’s gone Yoshida is here to stay, strap yourselves in as this is going to be one hell of a shit ride.
