Rapper Decides Earth is Flat, Goes Full Conspiracy Nut

Was tempted to put this in the When I Saw This… thread. But it needs a standalone thread, I think.

US rapper B.O.B has spent the weekend trying to convince his Twitter followers the the world is flat.

Best known for 2010 single ‘Airplanes’, featuring Hayley Williams of Paramore, B.O.B is currently locked in a battle with his 2.2m Twitter supporters who are refusing to believe his suggestion that the planet is not round.

B.O.B’s evidence against years of scientific research is mainly based on the fact he has never seen the curve of the earth and therefore believes it to be a lie. As he says in one tweet, “No matter how high in elevation you are… the horizon is always eye level.”

He later added: “A lot of people are turned off by the phrase “flat earth” … but there’s no way u can see all the evidence and not know… grow up.”

However, B.O.B is adamant that he’s not trying to trick people into believing the same thing as him: “Don’t try to back me into the “conspiracy theorist” corner… don’t be fooled. I speak from personal experience.”

Hehe. That’s one that even I won’t touch.

How can you see the curve or have I missed something? :lou_lol:

If BoB can prove first that we’re all living in a gigantic simulation, I think he’s onto a winner.

The wrap around

What I mean by wrap-around, is that when you fly off one edge of the world, you get warped to the other side, so you can travel infinitely but the world has finite area.

Figure 1

In Figure 1, A travels off the right hand edge of the world and is then wrapped around to the left hand edge.

The only slight issue I see is that no-one is really going to give a fuck about the Earth being flat if he meets that aim.

Typical Yank, knowledge of world affairs absolutely naff all. Here, every man and his dog have seen Tim Peake’s photo albums 10 times over. Curved, fuckwit:

This bro is right. If i was describing erf to someone, i would say it is flat, or mostly flat. It’s more flat than it is round deffo.

I have flown all over the world and when the plane lands it’s always on flat land, not curved land. This is true of every journey I have made, no matter where in the world.

What about hills? They’re round. And waves too. Factor in all the waves and hills and I reckon the world is more round than flat.

I saw this on Twitter earlier, and the first thing I thought was “Pap”. This is what my life has come to.

B.O.B hasn’t got exclusive rights on being a dumbass rapper. Sample lyrics from Insane Clown Posse:

Fuckin’ magnets, how do they work? Scientists, yo’ muthafuckas lyin’ and gettin’ me pissed

Is medium picture like standing on a mountain, or is that big picture? I’m assuming step ladder is small picture?

Bump.

Shaquille O’Neal, Basketball Hall-of-Famer, is also a Flat-Earther.

“When I drive from Florida to New York, flat!”

but that’s just an optical illusion caused by the curvature of the camera lens…

So does this mean that Australia is on the bottom and we are on the top of the flat Earth? Or are we all on the top and there is nothing on the bottom. I am just a bit worried in case B.O.B is right!

Nobody has ever been underneath. Presumably there are exact replicas of each of us, with magnetic bottoms, keeping us pinned to the ground and giving the illusion of gravity.

Unfortunately we will never find out due to NASAs tricks.

According to some Flat Earthers, gravity is indeed a hoax. We get the illusion of gravity as Earth is constantly speeding through the galaxy ‘upwards’, towards the sun - which is apparently only a few thousand miles away?

Yeah, I don’t really get it either.
