You shouldn’t say fuck you death. We all need death, especially when you’ve lived to 85. Ronnie Corbett has lived a joyful, successful and long life. Save the fuck you’s for those taken young and in tragic conditions.

ps I have no idea if his life was joyful, I made that bit up. He seemed happy on the telly. Anyway…RIP

Good man, Lets B Drinking.

Corbett was a bloke that seemed near ubiquitous at certain points of my life. Gotta say, he was never really my cup of tea then (I was a child) but I had a renewed appreciation for him as I saw him interact with the newer generation of comedians and got to review some of his earlier stuff as an adult. Always seemed up for a laugh. Endearingly couldn’t stop himself during a lot of it (and I really don’t blame him).

RIP.

He was the funniest of the Two Ronnies RIP

I think this thread is the earliest, but I like Let’s Be Drinking’s title better.

Any objections to a merge and title change? KRG keeps ownership of the thread. Let’s Be gets kudos for the title. Barry, you leave with nothing.

We need to merge the threads because at the moment we’ve got the three Ronnies.

EDIT: RIP*

*Not wanting to seem like I’m copying the Bear there.

Fine by me, Let’s Be’s is indeed better.

My old dear watches the 2 Ronnies repeats on Gold regularly and, occasionally, you just have to stop, watch and chuckle and remember how fucking good they really were.

The funniest double act ever.

_Quietly edited by furious pap _. When will Bazza learn to do YouTube links? **furious pap ** appreciates that this post may attract upvotes. Sad, innit?

He did some funny stuff, he did some awful stuff.

But I guess if you’ve made people chuckle for more than fifty years, and worked in the BBC without raping any children then you’ve lived a pretty good life.

Farewell Ronnie - he will forever ramble on in his comfy chair.

Little Ronnie was the child and he didn’t say anything

He was definitely at his best in the Two Ronnies - he and Barker were a great double act. And his solo spots in those shows, telling rambling jokes from his armchair, were excellent.

RIP Ronnie.

I preferred Ronnie B, but whatever, they were a terrific double act and were also good in the sketches they did with John Cleese for David Frost. He had a good innings and will be well remembered. Another big name (if small in stature) leaves us this year. 2016 will go down as a dark year for proper celebs. RIP

Someone on the radio said that they would be lighting four candles for him tonight!!!

I haven’t really known what to say yet in this thread.

So many relatively well known people have died recently, and whilst most have been too far removed for me personally to have a great impact, it is difficult when it’s someone who has (albeit indirectly) been a part of your life over the years, responsible for delivering such good cheer to so many – it is hard to find the right words.

You never really knew them, but they played their part in your enjoyment of life.

Death may have had the final word – but Ronnie had the last laugh.
