Really pleased that we’ve got him tied down and good to see that despite losing a few key players, we are tying more and more very good players down and that our defence is pretty assured for the next couple of seasons, at least.
May have been a slight dig against Koeman in one of the articles on the OS, saying that the clubs ambition was one of the reasons Bertrand decided to stay.

Thanks, I see there are a few posts for me on the other thread, but still at work, and don’t have time to read through them properly now, so will wait til tonight. Just heard the news of Ryan’s contract and wanted to come on and clarify:
This is not the ‘imminent’ one that was just awaiting a signature I’ve been talking about. Ryan’s contract was one of the two I’ve always said were “further down the line”. Mane was the other, but that obviously didn’t work out in the end, and we cashed in. Another has since been added to that “down the line” list, and will depend on how he gets on with the new boss, as he didn’t like the last one very much. 
But that’s another story for another time.
So obviously things have caught up to speed on Ryan’s talks, I wasn’t expecting it quite yet, so was wonderful to hear confirmed.
Therefore I still expect that other one to come through soon too, when someone returns from holiday.

Other contract is Long I assume ! Seems we are tieing down a core of British players on long term deals. One for the other thread but I’m convinced we will re sign Ox too.

And good to hear JS’s thoughts too, because that means there might be more good news round the corner (expecting the ‘just waiting the signature’ one to be Long, and the ‘further down the line depending on new boss’ to be Tadic). Just need to get Fonte extended once he’s back from his break and I’ll be a happy bunny.

yeah, Guan on SWF mentioned yesterday that Tadic is happier now Koeman has left. Hopefully that means he’ll sign a new contract. Very pleased to have the best English left back extend his contract with us.
Well I should hope we get Long on a extended contract, as he is the only fit first squad attacker. Let’s hope we sign another top striker, as we are short up top! Also I would like to point out that extended contacts do not need to be sorted when they get back from holiday. Pretty much all of them are sorted while they are on the beach and the agent and consultants are running around ‘earning’ their commission/wages!

Obviously. Hence it already being done.
But you do kind of need to be in the country [and in particular the Southampton area] to do all the smiley handshakey photo-ops with Sir Les.
