Do you want Saints players in the England team. Personally haven’t given a shit since R.Lambert jumped ship as soon as he’d made the team and encouraged others to follow.

Too much of an injury risk compared to the glory they’ll get.

Pulling on an England shirt these days seems to mean nothing apart from a big tick when planning their next club move (for squillions’)

On a personal level I’m not bothered whether they play for England or not these days but I can see it’s different for the professional.

It’s a sign to them that they have made their mark in the game, they have been noticed and it’s a mark of respect amongst their peers to be selected and to maintain the standards that got them there in the first place.

It’s not their fault the national team at the moment is shit. You fight your own personal little corner and hope others around you do the same. It’s up to the National Manager to pull together all those who “fight their own corners” into a cohesive team that punches above the individual’s weight.

BTW Who is the England manager at the moment…seriously as I write this I can’t remember.

I did like the fact that although he showed “no emotion” when he scored he did admit “it was a really big thing” for him.

I know lots of fans have criticised him for seeming to be so “impassive” but good to see it DID mean something to him and he celebrated properly when it was appropriate.

Hopefully we can see him “not celebrate” a couple of times this afternoon

Seriously…I’ve taken the dog for his 90 minute walk and I still can’t remember who the England manager is…someone tell me…I don’t want to have to Google it.

I know that one but I couldn’t tell you who plays for england on a truly regular basis other than a few vanity lads from livepool.
