Saints Remaining games

After the last couple of results I feel we are in for a great end to the season, but what do you think.

I have been saying for ages now that we will be the next team to beat Leicester and think we can beat them on their patch, which will tip the title race a little, back to Spurs.

Leicester v Southampton W
Southampton v Newcastle W
Everton v Southampton D
Aston Villa v Southampton W
Southampton v Man City D
Tottenham v Southampton L
Southampton v Palace W

points = 14

points for the season = 61 (I have no idea where this will leave us in the table this season)

Please can we switch the results for Leicester and Tottenham

I’m so torn about the Leicester game I’m going to admit it.

Not at all, it is still in Leicester’s hands and we just have to try and beat everyone in our way. Don’t worry this is only what I think will happen, but just really feel we have the beating of Leicester and they are due a defeat, so why no us?

All that I have just said, I have just seen that they have only lost once at home this season and that was back in September. All the stats I look at I find what they have done this season amazing…but I think we will beat them!

We owe them for that infuriating 2-2 fightback at St.Mary’s. :lou_angry:

Sure, it would be nice to see Leicester win the League – but not at the expense of points taken from us.

Fuck, they’re all winnable, but then this is Saints, and we could just as easily screw them up.

Man City have lost their cohesion since the forthcoming managerial change was announced, and (currently at least) look like fizzling out in the face of uncertainty. Palace for some reason just always beat us. Forget the dismal run of eight defeats in ten (with two draws) – “The Saints - Are Coming…”

We’ll probably end up taking Tottenham apart at The Lane and getting fucked over at Villa Park knowing us. :lou_wink_2:

Either way, yet another exciting climax to the season is in store for us.

It’s great to be a Saint. What a journey we have taken together these last incredible years.

We’ve put ourselves in a very enviable position for the final march. A huge chance to take the season by the scruff of the neck and ensure we don’t have to rely on hand-me-down European qualification.

It’s in our own hands - and I feel we’ll achieve 6th.

If we finish 6th, I will gladly masturbate in front of you all at the next gathering. It’s just nit going to happen. 7th if we lucky, more likely 8th

just working out how the hell we can finish 5th now.

I fancy us to turn over Leicester although with the head of steam they have at the moment a draw is more likely. The game I really want to win is against Spuds. Palace seem to have gone off the boil so I think we will win that comfortably and City is very winnable. As has been said though, with us anything is possible. We could have a glorious run in or we could feck it all up. Fingers crossed for the former!

The most worrying thing is that Fatso makes that generous offer as if it is something we would enjoy.

I’d be wearing a fucking Spurs shirt and shouting for Harry Kane if it meant us avoiding that scenario, as would the poor staff at the Rockstone.

I draw the line at mayonaisse with the chips.

Oh, you’d enjoy it alright, don’t worry about that.

Dammit. Looks like Pearson will be managing Villa by the time we play them #rumours

Cannot see us getting anything at Spurs, they are simply too sharp around the box at the moment, Leicester? Can see them squeezing us out.

Citeh? Well they are a Zombie club, Pelligrini is only interested in winning the UCL (OK so wtf happens IF Citeh drop to 5th, win the UCL & The Scousers win the Europa League?)

Everton will be thinking about Wembley, Rafa will have organised the Geordies so we sneal a 1-0 against them.

Hopefully Palace will be 1) Safe and 2) At Wembley the following week by the time we play them

21 Points to play for can see us losing 2 and drawing 1 as well

Now more importantly, who do WHU & The Mancs have to play?

Run ins for everyone there or thereabouts. Can’t see Liverpool doing anything. Their style, plus fixture congestion, should keep them out of European contention via league position. City could throw 4th spot. They’ve a lot of tough games and a European distraction. They could completely slump if PSG knock 'em out.

We’ll win the fucking lot and qualify for the CL. Mark my words.

PS don’t look at the betting threads for examples of my success on predictions.

TBF we can beat Leicester this weekend and not worry about Spurs creeping up on them, the back-stabbing Argentinian’s club have the bottlers this weekend, I reckon the bottlers will be well up for this after Sunday’s capitulation and a draw will ensue.

So let’s be beating Leicester this weekend please.

Fuck sake D_P this has been covered elsewhere, if the scenario you moot actually happens then, as we can only have 5 teams in the Champions league, if Citeh and Liverpool both finish outside the top 4 then only the top 3 will qualify for the CL.

Therefore EU league places will go to FA Cup winners, 4th place in the league and League cup winners (which is Citeh so that will revert to the league).

See, simple as mud

We are not playing this weekend, nor are Leicester or Spurs!

OK, fine - we’ll finish 7th or 8th.

3 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses puts us on 58 points. Just shy of last year’s 60 and an 85% chance of the above positions.

Would take a mighty, mighty run to do any better. But given that I called 8th to 12th at the start of the season (and have never been swayed otherwise), taking the season as a whole I’d be happy enough with the upper end of that.
