Saints to be stung into action by the Hornets?

Watford at their gaff next Saturday (13th January). Luckily for Saints it's not a Friday otherwise.

With a comfortable demolition of Fulham under their belts will the team rise to the occasion or will the Hornets swarm all over us (as they did at St Marys all those months ago).

Will Marco Silva show Mr Reed that he was wrong not to be considered for the St Marys hotseat? WIll MoPo MKII put out an attacking team? Will the players follow his instructions?

I'm going for a 1-0 defensive Saints win with JW-P smashing in from 2 yards out.

I know it doesnt help us, but if players can get retrospective bans for diving or bad fouls, why cant they also for deliberate hand ball. If he had handled it off the line he would have been sent off. Surely this is just as bad?

Not the only one who noticed the "improvement" then

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/jan/13/watford-southampton-premier-league-report

The other aspect Pellegrino wishes to analyse is the improvement in his team, particularly in a first half they dominated in style. That gave them the platform that should have helped them to a win at Vicarage Road. The attacking link-up between waspish target man Shane Long, stylish technician Dusan Tadic and the positive James Ward-Prowse was encouraging. They blended their range of characteristics to try to change the picture for the South Coast team.

I don't think we will get VAR in the Premiership until an incident like Watford's equalizer happens to one of the so called big clubs. In his interview afterwards Pellegrino says he is "a little bit sad" about being cheated out of the win. A little bit sad? He should be fucking fuming, shouting from the rooftops. Where is the passion? It is quite feasible, given our position, that 2 points will be the difference between playing in the Premiership or the Championship next season. It was a disgraceful decision, and as blatant a piece of cheating as you will ever see. But all that being said, we again threw away a comfortable lead due to Pellegrino's clueless tactics in the second half. We have seen the same thing over and over again this season.

Good to see Ward-Prowse getting two goals, he had a great game i thought. He will probably be dropped for the next one.

AG and the cheating bastard spit toasting nuns in front of the fire.

Brings to mind that Oliver Reed scene of him fighting naked in front of a fire.

I've been giving Steven Davis dogs abuse all season. I could tolerate it if he could put a tackle in and worked hard and so on, but he doesn't even do that - he's soft and weak as shit and gives the ball away far too many times and has a shit touch. Typical British Sunday League clogger of a player.

People literally like him solely because he's a British player and therefore regarded as a 'hard-working good honest player'.

Had enough of him. If he were Spanish or Italian or Ghanaian or whatever, people would slaughter him. He gets away with it every time and fuck knows how he started ahead of Lemina.

And he fucking ducked in the wall in the Cup final against United as well.

Really been a while since I've got back from football that angry. Completely brought that on ourselves. Exactly like the 3-3 against Stoke five years ago - first half we got the ball on the deck against a big team of brutes and danced around them - absolutely fucking danced around them and took the piss. We then conceded a shit goal against a thuggy team, panicked, gave the ball straight back to them on every occasion and played completely into their hands by allowing the game to become a Rugby match.

Don't even talk to me about the Doucoure goal - our players allowed Gray or Deeney to get a free knock-down in the box and one header over the defence and everyone's taken out. Cba to talk articulately after that one. Really, really annoyed.

Is it safe to read the thread yet? Have Brazza and NYS ejaculated / frothed at the mouth as they blow bubbles with each other's ?

As a fully paid up plastic (ex ST holder now living to far to go and too old to worry about over paid players being relegated and having to take a pay cut ... or that it's somehow indicative of a small penis If we play in a lower division) I was still rather pissed off with being cheated out of a result.... and question why if players can be retrospectively punished for diving as cheating, why they can't be for something like this which is even worse.?

For me the fact a player is happy to cheat on that way is more disgraceful than the result... but then again I ain't That obsessed with club status, more about enjoying the game.

if we have a game where such blatant cheating is still acceptable despite it being  captured and broadcast, and therefore, in effect accepts this as 'part of the game' is it any wonder many can no longer give a toss? What message does it send to kids if cheats prosper and the FA and league and 'powerless' and unwilling to do anything about it?

it's not sport.

A different question to ask

Is Steven Davis part of the problem having been our key man for so many years?

Do we finally need to have cover for him?

The way he gave the ball away for their first goal was atrocious.

Well despite the Glum Twins being up to their usual miserable utterings I am going to be positive. It’s a point away from home and we have found a new goal scoring machine in JWP. With the extra quality coming in before the end of the window we will soon be climbing out of the bottom half.

Clap clap clap clap clap.

 This man is smoking crack.

No, I am just not a wrist slitting, bed wetting drama queen. You can bet your life if we had been 2 down at half time and pulled it back to 2-2 you would still be whinging. Here’s a thought, look up support in the dictionary and try applying it to the club. Unless of course you think being a whinging negative tosser will help us climb the league?

I dont think singing the umpa lumpa song is going to help us climb up the league either. In fact I think the Saints Umpar Lumpas are one of the reason we are where we are.

Steven Davis...... the most overrated player in the premier league.

He has been a great signing, had a shite season and the best is behind him, should be replaced, you can't blame this shitfest on one player, our whole ideology of continuingly selling our best players has caught up with us, that is not to excuse the current crop of shite who should be more than capable of picking up enough to stay up, that is where is lies with the players and manager, a perfect storm of fucking wank.

Well said @Sadoldgitsome people need to remember this is a football club and that by supporting it you  cheer it on rather then boo it of the pitch.  We march on (to an 8 nil defeat against Spurs)👌👍💪

 Naa...2 - 8 our goal machine will nick a couple. lou_lol
