First and last now… :lou_facepalm_2:

I expected to get beat.

I expected them to give us the run around.

But to lose to 2 soft goals and to be so slow and flat. José was at walking pace at the end.

Worry now is how much players like Cuco have left in the tank for Thursday.

That was really shit no matter how much their players cost we gave them that

Oh I hope so, FA Cup Final! Mother I’m never coming home, I have left an importantant part of me, somewhere, somewhere in the field in Cardiff…alright!

Only caught the second half but can’t complain by the looks of things. They showed up & we didn’t. Meh. Onto the next one.

A new record for a bloke leaving early…

His previous best was 65 mins when we were losing to Man Utd, today he left the game after 58 mins.

What a twat.

Difficult game today against a Chelsea side who were very organised. Redmond and Austin fairly anonymous but I don’t blame them, very little service for them and played too much with their backs to goal. Early goal for Chelsea let them sit back and dictate when they wanted to attack, as they hit us with 4 good counter attacks (from my memory anyway) and scored with 2 of them. Disappointing now but no major setback losing this game, already getting excited for Thursday :lou_smiley:

There was guy in front of me leaving early he was smiling and having a jolly time as he left. I shouted at him…“Don’t act so fuckin’ cheerful…you’re leaving early, twat!”

No disgrace in losing to a very good Chelsea side, who just happen to be bang on form as well. Pace Phil above, I wouldn’t say that was really shit - we lost to a better team. It happens. I don’t think we played as well as we can, whereas they payed very well indeed. We moved the ball about very nicely for much of the match, but we’re just lacking a little up front; and that’s a lack that counts for a hell of a lot at this level.

Their ability to take the chances that came their way won them the match today. We weren’t overrun by any means, but Chelsea just really look dangerous. It they can keep their key players fit and on form they’ll certainly be strong contenders for the title.

I left with four minutes to go. Was entirely fucked off by that point.

Made woman in front laugh when Davide Luis dived by stating: “fucking hell Anita Dobson’s fallen over.”

Otherwise, meh.

Young Pharma’s (8) solo chant of “same old Chelsea, always cheating” raised a smile around us in the Chapel, but that was the highlight. He’d been asking me since half time if he could sing it.

Funnily enough, I couldn’t him him to respond to the Frank Lampard chant with “Frankie Lampard, your uncle’s a cunt”

Stupid kids.

Chelsea struck lucky by scoring so early on because it meant they could sit back and catch us on the counter which is what they’re so good at. Conte has set them up to be very hard to break down in that 3-4-3 formation and we couldn’t get any space behind the lines as Matic and Kante sat a bit deeper. They’ll beat a lot of teams playing like that this season, potentially even title contenders if City don’t hit form again soon.

No complaints really, they were very good and we weren’t particularly. Not sure what Cuco was trying to do for their 2nd goal mind you, it was like watching an extra from Thriller trying to moonwalk…

Beaten by a better team on the day, No complaints really. Cuco, I realise is 3rd choice but still, he’s a bit of an enigma some laughably awful defending, then somedays he’s great going forward. Not too disappointed, there’s a real structure and plan.

The defending for Costas goal was the worst piece of attempting to block a shot I’ve ever seen . I thought he was attempting some sort of Morris dance . Deserves to be dropped for that alone .

The sign of progress is how we get totally outplayed against a very good side but only lose 2-0, in a game that we were always in touch with.

How the fuck do United manage to ship four goals so easily?

They must be properly crap.

And Liverpool currently rely on outscoring teams because their clown-like defence hasn’t kept a clean sheet since Bob Paisley left.

We are doing okay.

I know its hindsight but with Martina and Mcqueen both limited in defensive positions I think against teams like chelsea we should have 3 at the back.

Oh yes before i get slautered I know we played Bertrand but he was definatly not up to speed on sunday

The bloke is fucking sloth compared to the Villa fans that got off after 27 minutes.

I think that might have been the earliest ever “legitimate” use of the “You’ve had your day out…” chant.

I didn’t realise that Bletch had “gone” to the game!!

From my perspective via the 16:9 window we kept posession well, they were very hard to break down, well organised at the back.

Hazard’s early goal allowed them to do this, go on about Cuco’s defending but WTF was Davis doing for the first.

We seemed to have no right back and were overrun down that side on more than a few ocassions. Cuco’s defending for Costa’s goal was terrible but it was a well taken goal. He’d obviously been watching the Boufal tapes.

Sort of gave up on 80 minutes as had the kids to bath and was still recovering after getting home at 05:30/04:30 that morning…a tale for the “Who is completely off their face on a Sturday night?” thread.
