Saints vs Spurs drinks: The Sotonians Christmas Party

Saturday 19th December, the last home game before Christmas.

Who’s coming to the big Sotonians Christmas Party?

:lou_smiley:

Are we having a Secret Santa?

Fowllyd & me definitely in - and we have the Bishopstoke Hilton (his parents’ place) booked!

Thought the Alex was a good choice for pre-match, although cramped. Rockstone also fine. Farmhouse has too few bar staff for me

Where was the cider place that Bucks mentioned? - I wouldn’t mind as a change for the pre?

Somewhere with a lot of space for the post-match - South-western?

The Stable is the cider / pies / pizza place. Somewhere called the Cultural Quarter (!) near to where John Lewis etc used to be. No idea if it is packed pre match or full of non footy fans though.

You can count me, and Lou, into the pre-match party wherever it is and possibly after as well.

Alex likely to be more cramped pre-Spurs I’d have thought. Cider place? Does it sell beer? Don’t wish to sound like a miserable git (even though I am one), but I really don’t enjoy cider at all. South Western afterwards would be great I think.

Hmmm - that might work for the pre - I don’t mind a few pints of cider (leaving the bitter for later)

Close enough to walk to SMS

Pizza…

Nope, but I’ll see some of you just after for West Ham away! :lou_lol:

I’ll be there! Start of my Christmas holidays too!

Does anyone know what happens to public transport on Boxing Day? Do trains still run?

Just looked at the website. Downside of 40 odd ciders is a limited choice of other beers:

Gales Seafarers. A crisp light thirst quenching amber ale. 3.6%.

Frontiers. A craft lager brewed for 42 days using new world hops and old techniques. 4.5%

Veltins. One of Germany’s oldest brewers. Clean, crisp, bitter, delicious lager. 4.8%

Trains run, but not at anything like the time I need them to.

You should be fine though.

Back to ‘Trap Advisor’ to explain and get off your chest… It is good therapy! :lou_sad:

Cool - either of those lagers could do the trick nicely. Pies, eh? Mmmmm…

According to Trainline, no trains at all from London to Southampton. Coaches run (£14 return! 2 hours) from various departure points in London. Are you staying down? Return coach not until 27th in which case you may as well revert to the train.

Or come back up on the coach on the 28th and straight to West Ham? :lou_wink_2:

We aren’t playing Spurs on Boxing Day. Its on Dec 19th.

Sorry - I was being confusing. The question didn’t have any relevance to the statement above it.

For Spurs travel should be fine. For Arsenal on Boxing Day, I need to travel to and from Romsey.

That’s crazy. I can just about get to Southampton Central for 14:45 through some creative train hopping. I was going cross country tho.

National Rail doesn’t show any trains on Boxing Day, I don’t understand it - how do any fans get to the game?
