Saturday Night Kick Off

Can’t see it being a great hit. Transport, emergency services, teams and away fan’s.

How do regular home attendents feel?

Ten o’clock on a Saturday night kick off in Barcelona would be great, can’t say the same about a trip to Huddersfield

Have I missed something ?

Who’s proposing this ridiculous idea* ?

rhetorical question, obviously it’ll be sky

EDIT … just read it on the UI so now I know

What are we talking about?

Introducing 7.45pm kick offs on a Saturday.

Personally I don’t mind that idea, atmospheres would almost certainly improve with a day’s worth of drink swilling around in the fans!

Sorry for the vague post. As SM says 19:45 kick off on a Saturday. To me it will only be a matter of time before this happens. Top six travelling the country providing lots of happysnappas with photo opportunities of the prem stars. Shazzam

This will take years to be a thing though.

Assume this is being dictated by Sky and BT?

Interestingly the Sat KO times on the fixture list saw on the BBC were all 3pm - as they should be.

It’s all about the money and nothing to do with improving the fans experience.

ffs, why am I so negative

:lou_sad:

Quite like the 5.30 kick off’s on a Saturday. Saturday night games might be pushing it a bit though.

Absolutely disaster - for us Sunday is a working day, add to that in winter you guys are 4 hours behind us.

So basically we’re exected to start a working week with a 2am home time after a night in the Pub.

Some of our Yoof brigade (or Eric & his shifts) could manage that but not the bulk of us.

Why not Friday nights FFS?

The TV companies wouldn’t mind an entirely empty stadium so long as it meant they had more football to broadcast. Match-attending fans are rapidly becoming little more than an inconvenience.

I sympathise with the point Ant for sure, but I am sure some surveys have been done before about TV audiences watching games with half empty stadiums / poor stadium atmosphere. Most say (and I agree) that it makes being interested in a TV game much less likely.

Why on earth do the fuckwits think we need more evening matches? The 1730 one on Saturday is already a ball ache to get back from away games.

How could the UK male population cope with the thought of missing Ant & Dec, Strictly cum dancing and GB Bake Offs etc whilst snuggled up with the doris on the sofa?

First they dabbled with the 3pm slot…then we had Sundays!

Before you knew it there was a Friday night game - now it’s all gone to shit.

When Murdoch throws his cash and tells you to dance, just fucking dance!

Better a 7.45pm Saturday kick-off than an NFL-style ‘World Tour’ fixture every season. You mark my words, the PL will have that in their plans.

It’s so the PL can sell games to the Far East and the Antipodes.

A real ball ache but La Liga has been doing it for years so we’ll probably get used to it. It’ll only be the “big 6” that will have regularly televised late matches so it probably won’t affect us that much.

What is more worrying is that, at a PL executive meeting the other day, the “Big 6” said that they deserve a bigger cut of the televised match money than other clubs!

Quite. Watching Pasha and Aljaz prancing around is the only thing that gets her in the mood all week.

No it isn’t…
