Seriously?

I know the sentence was overturned, but this is just going to be a media shit storm.

Well he is innocent in the eyes of the law so should be allowed to pursue his chosen career.

That said - he is going to get a ton of stick from opposing fans.

Let me fix that for you and add a headline.

Ched Evans: Sheffield United set to re-sign striker from Chesterfield

The decision was quashed, not just the sentence. Very important distinction.

Not sure what the issue is. A footballer had consensual (albeit morally questionable) sex continues to ply his trade.

If you’re expecting footballers to be good role models then you may be waiting a while.

His sentence was quashed. Not sure what the issue is here.

If you’re happy to accept the guilty verdict handed down by the legal system, then I suggest you should also be happy to accept the appeals process.

He’ll get grief off every opposing terrace for shagging a comatose girl. Grubby business all around.

Probably not the wisest of moves by Sheffield United, but he is free to play and they are free to sign him. Do they really need the distraction of this signing after achieving promotion? Their choice, but an odd one.
