The former players have been named as Dean Radford and Jamie Webb. The article says that a number of other former players have come forward and said they were abused whilst at the club.
I am just hoping that it is not any of the employees or people still connected to the club, who dealt with the youth set up! That is what Saints do not want to happen!

This isn’t a Football problem in isolation it’s a society problem, football development just gives these perverts the ideal opportunities as does athletics, swimming and all sport coaching.

Seriously sick shit. The lengths some of these creeps go to is fucking insane. I mean, surely it isn’t a case of pedophiles just happening to be keen on football coaching and taking their grisly chance when it comes - these sickos must have obviously pursued the career in order to gain access to kids. I know that sounds like a stupidly obvious point but the calculating nature of it really creeps me out

These things have obviously happened if only it had been reported to the appropriate authorities at the time.
However with the compensation culture we live in and greedy lawyers looking to a quick buck you are going to get some fraudsters jumping on the bandwagon no doubt.Remember how they destroyed Dave Jones career.I know he was working in a boys home and not as a football coach at the time but it is the same thing.The same with Cliff Richard.
With the passage of time it may be hard to get evidence for some of these. Some like the Chelsea bribe should be easy to prove but I fear a lot of time is going to be wasted sorting out the genuine from the false accusations.

I think it was more about the sensationalist vocabulary. But then we all see things (words on line) and interpret them differently.
I hope that there are more safeguards these days. DBS/CRB checks are done on anyone who works with or has access to information on children. There will be people who have not been convicted who get through those checks and may be abusing kids.
We all need to be talking to kids about what is not okay and have positive relationships with them so they trust people and can tell those people.
