Did an amazing job. Reckon heā€™s going to be a pivotal figure in where this new Trek goes.

Iā€™ve said before that the show should pay no attention to the sort of wankers that obsess over cosmetic details or scream that they donā€™t line up with canon.

Really, theyā€™re just people that are pissed off thereā€™s a new Star Trek series on and theyā€™re not writing it. Look at this two griefhounda*

*Not for too long.

Sorry, I meant ā€œlook at these two griefhoundsā€, but ended up running into Cobham Saint bug.

Weā€™re closer to fixing this dangerous anomaly of why his username never shows up as red and white.

Cunt @pap

lolz

:lou_lol:

I was a week behind due to travels.

Found the finale perplexing as it had been set up to be explosive then seemed to amble along going all away mission.

So understand the disappointment BUT when the jigsaw comes together in the cave I think Iā€™m actually happier than having booms and bangs.

Interesting Tyler going off. Maybe those TOS Klingons werenā€™ South American after allā€¦

The moment at the end as soon as the distress signal came in I just knew it was going to be BBC 1701 and I had avoided all spoilers.

Just never caught the captainā€™ name ā€¦

Going to be a very stark Canon issue with lighting & sets and costumes IF they go on boardā€¦

Loved it great TV now for S3 of The Expanse to drop!

Are you being facetious or serious?

If serious Burnham distinctly said Pike was the Captainā€¦and WTF is the BBC 1701? An interstellar craft funded entirely by license fees?

As I understand it, the Enterprise turning up was just a chance encounter. Didnā€™t they drop out of warp to answer a distress call? Pike is captain of the Enterprise, until he gets all irradiated and Davos like. I donā€™t think heā€™s new captain of Discovery.

Spill choker error :sunglasses:

And yes Pap. Interesting that After Trek suggested watching The Cage. Perhaps a bit of Pike history in the Prime universe?

The spoilers were that S2 will be about Stammets coming to terms with loss and spores.

That thing that landed on Tilly. Ash becoming an extreme ex pat & wondering why

And (probably) some familiar characters and maybe the Canon gap as to why Spock never mentioned a half sister.

What they did say is that the story STARTED with the ending - Enterprise, the bridge crew coming together then they built it back from there. Said it was a tough secret to keep

Returning to the BIG screen as well.

Contractual nightmare between CBS & Paramount and the cast but Kelvin timeline ST4 moving ahead with a female Director and the return of Liam Hemsworth as George Kirk. ( oh good time travel again)

Meanwhile ST5 also moves into the picture with Quentin Tarantino involved (SRSLY?)

Kill Borg?

Dilithium Reservoir Dogs?

The Kelvin timeline sucks. And I still havenā€™t seen Beyond.

Trouble at tā€™Mill in Season 2ā€¦

The Hollywood Reporterā€˜s take on the situation, as writer Lesley Goldberg reports that the show was facing both ā€œballooningā€ budget issues and a writersā€™ room that was near the point of ā€œ[human resources] complaintsā€ due to behaviors displayed by Harberts and Berg.

Weā€™ve made some producer changes at Star Trek: Discovery. The series continues under the creative vision and leadership of executive producer and co-creator Alex Kurtzman.

Discovery remains on course for Season Two in 2019 with new and continuing stories that build on its successful premiere season.

Sources say the decision to oust Berg and Harberts was based not on the creative but instead for leadership and operational issues. Production on Discoveryā€™s first five episodes of season two are near completion, with Kurtzman likely taking over for episode six and beyond. Berg and Harberts, who were longtime collaborators with original showrunner Fuller, will likely still be credited on the episodes they oversaw.

Sources say the budget for the season two premiere ballooned, with the overages expected to come out of subsequent episodes from Discoveryā€™s sophomore run.

Insiders also stress that Berg and Harberts became increasingly abusive to the Discovery writing staff, with the latter said to have leaned across the writersā€™ room table while shouting an expletive at a member of the showā€™s staff.

Multiple writers are said to have been uncomfortable working on the series and had threatened to file a complaint with human resources or quit the series altogether before informing Kurtzman of the issues surrounding Berg and Harberts.

After hearing rumors of HR complaints, Harberts is said to have threatened the staff to keep concerns with the production an internal matter.

Next season is looking alright to me.

When does it start? Bearing in mind Iā€™ll be watching it a few days after you and studiously avoiding your summaries
