Thing is, nothing can beat Kirk attempting to get down with alien women - was cheesy and funny, but form a social perspective way ahread of its time with an integrted ethnically diverse crew, women in powerful positions and Kirk happy not just to go interracial but interspeciesā¦ great moral message.
ā¦ so in follow up , what is your line up for papsweb casting of Trek and why
Spock : Bletch for this - annally retentive annoying bastard but seemingly quite smart
Kirk: Bearsy up for shagging anything including aliens, āboldly coming where no man has come beforeā (although that sounds like a perfect tag for Treky porn movie?)
Bones: ?
Scotty:?
Uhura:?
Chekov;?
Red shirted security blokes taht get killed off in every episode: Gay Abandon - but only to be reborn with a new name
Whats your choices boys and girls
Meh, give me a new ship and new characters please. Every generation deserves their own generation.
And letās not press the reset button every week for the benefit of people who can only be arsed twice a year.
Sometimes its better to just leave it as it is and come up with someting new rather than rebooting - whatever happened to originality? StarTrek was ahead of its time yet had enough intelligence not to take itself too seriously, letting the casting and characters do the messaging in a subtle yet powerful way whilst keeping the story effectively simple.
Would just prefer them to come up with something new and leave Trek aloneā¦ repeat it on mainstream Tv and not stuck on Syfy
I read a Star Trek novel one time. True story. My brother lent it me. It was all about how much Riker wanted to bang the psychic bird with the big tits. It was pretty good. I donāt remember what it was called, but I can ask my brother if you are interest RIP.
Lol yes! You should read it pap, it will give you geek boner trust
True Story : When TNG finished Marina Sirtis went off and made a bucket load of porn movies.
Or at least thatās what I wished happened.
Bones was the moral compass of the ship so that would have to be @LouLouMySweet
Scotty technical genius, could make a warp nacelle out of a styrofoam cup and a bit of wet string, got to be Pap
Chekov helmsman and pretty sound guy, ummm Fowlydd??
Bones was a racist, or at least a specist. He didnāt like them Vulcans, although heād tell everyone down the pub āIām not specist. Iāve got a Romulan mate.ā We know, Bones. We know.
I think Bear should be shipās counsellor, subject to several years of strict supervision to ensure that heās not just turning his counsellorās office into an intergalactic knocking shop.
Bletch is just on all the calls; heāll prevent this Enterprise from spending too many quantum torpedos. I see him in the role of Captain for that reason. I would put myself in the role of feisty first officer, capable but not yet ready to assume the full role of starship command.
SO5 is chief security officer, mostly because heās a tall bastard and I donāt think people would mess with him. bTripz can be chief engineer, beavering away in the bowels of the warp chamber.
Barry is to be held in stasis for emergency situations. The Borg proper fucked us at Wolf-359. āSpace Sanchezā is the only thing that they cannot assimilate, understand or adapt to. The seminal Borg two-parter that really kicked TNG off, āThe Best of Both Worldsā, would have been a completely different story if Bazza had been on the Borg cube, spouting his political philosophies and tinkering with random pieces of Borg technology.
Bloody Paps Web. This is now the 3rd time Iāve typed this. So Iām putting it on word then cut & pasting in case it goes boobs up again!
I thought Pap was the Uber Tekkie Geek, but reading his posts on this thread seems I was wrong. Back last year when I was up for a part in the new movie I got followed on Twitter by @TrekCore. I actually thought they were Pap tbh, I mean they Tweet stuff about 10 times a day, birthdays of ex cast members, pictures of Denise Crosby, Behind the scenes stuff about old models of The Enterprise being restored, stuff about new DVD releases and stuff.
So, for months now they have been leading discussions about the new series being on PPV Streaming sites and have put some interesting perspective into it.
The NEW world will be online TV, just maybe ITV hasnāt woken up to that yet. CBS like all other legacy Broadcasters NEEDS to have a viable Online Platform or they could become a Dinosaur. Star Trek is not actually about ābringing back the TV Show for us fansā it is actually a very clever vehicle to LEAD their penetration of and fight against other OnLine Providers (eg Netflicks, Amazon TV & Hulu)
I mentioned on another thread how Hulu have Stephen King, JJ Abrams, James Franco & Josh Duchamel leading their charge with 11.22.63, well, Star Trek is the CBS version.
In fact, in THAT perspective it makes one :snork: to understand that Amazon TV are relying on Clarkson & Co! J
So first thing that we can guarantee, NOBODY is going to be allowed to fvck up the return of Star Trek to TV, the show HAS to attract ALL Trekkies, old and new as it is the spearhead of a charge into a MultiBILLION dollar market place. (One which tbf the BBC & UK Gov are kind of understanding with the proposed changes to the Beebs charter, just that like everything itās being viewed in the scope of a āUK Marketā only not what COULD be done in a global streaming world)
So back to the Series. The Trek Core guys actually have a web site and post stuff very regularly and it IS worth following (if only for pics of Denise)
As for the NEW SHOW ā here is DPās EXCLUSIVE cut & paste teaser āThe Undiscovered Countryā ā You read it here first!
āNicholas Meyer Says 2017 STAR TREK Show Will Go āIn a Different Directionā In New Interview
Posted March 1, 2016
In a brief new interview with Den of Geek today, returning Star Trek favorite Nicholas Meyer spoke a bit about the upcoming 2017 Trek series, to which he will be joining showrunner Bryan Fuller as a writer and contributing producer.
About his role in the new show:
"I canāt tell you anything! I know things. But if I told you, Iād have to kill you.
If Iām lucky, Iāll get to write episodes. If Iām less lucky, Iāll just get to sit in that room with all those other clever peopleā¦ Iām waiting for them to tell me [when to go to work]!
Iām hoping the reason I was invited to do this was connected to ā presumably ā something I would have to offer. Whether that is the case, or whether itās recognized when it happens remains to be seen. Iām not a silver bullet."
On the nature of the new seriesā story opportunities:
"I think itās going to be a different āStar Trek.ā It will go in a different direction. And I think that is probably good.
Because the thing that mainly troubles me about āStar Trekā is the fear of it being maybe re-treads of itself. And to the degree that I had any influence on the [franchise] at all was that at least while I was there, we were fooling around. And if youāre not fooling around, then things can become stale.
I think that Bryan [Fuller] ā who is a very clever fellow ā has ideas ā some of which Iāve heardāthat are innovative and different. Different is what got me interested.
Meyer did have one cryptic thing to say about the ātaking-off pointā of the new showās narrative, but he cautious about any specifics:
āThe one thing I can relate to you is that āThe Undiscovered Countryā ā according to Bryan ā is a real sort of taking off point, or touchstone for how I guess heās thinking about the direction of the new show. I donāt want to be misquoted and I donāt want to misquote him, but heās fond of that film. Letās put it that way.ā
Of course, that last statement will surely set off an explosion of speculation and assumptions about the direction the new series may take ā anything from filling in the sixty years between Star Trek VI and the launch of the Enteprise-D in āEncounter at Farpointā ā but Meyer was obviously being careful to stay ambiguous before anything solid has been set in place.ā

I think itād be a mistake to do any kind of prequel series.
We want new adventures, the TNG lot are still around for guest spots (perhaps not Data, eh?). I hope theyāre talking themes, rather than time period.
i liked star trek voyager. Iāve prob seen at least 10 complete episodes of Star Trek Voyager, whereas all the other star treks Iāve only watched i.e. 20 mins here or there. They should make the new one to be like Star Trek Voyager. It was really good. It had Captain Strangeways, and the funny Doctor Man who was Hologram, and it had the Borg Woman with the Big Tits. It was best one by far srs.
I also liked Enterprise, a bit. You had Captain Quantum Leap, and the funny Doctor Man who was Alien, and it had the Vulcan Woman with the Big Tits. It was almost as good as Voyager srs
Edit:
I also like how pap borrowed the theme tune to do his opening credits for papsweb:
I also liked Star Trek Next Generation. It had Captain Bald, and the Funny Doctor Man who was Woman, and it had the Empath Woman with the Big Tits. It wasnāt as gd as Voyager, or Enterprise, but it was quite gd srs.
I also liked Star Trek Original. It had Captain Kirk, and the Funny Doctor Man who was Drunk, and it had the Translater Woman with the Big Arse. It wasnāt quite in same league as Voyager, or Enterprise, or Star Trek Next Generations, but it was quite gd for itās day srs
What Iām saying really, is that the New Star Trek needs to have a Captain Distinctive, a Funny Doctor Man, and a Woman with Big Tits. Donāt mess with winning formula pls!
Genius (not seen before)
I need to go back to my Bob Goblin avatar
