Sunderland FC has unveiled a sensory room for use by people on the autism spectrum. There was a nice segment on BBC Breakfast about this morning. Away fans with the condition can use the room too and apparently it’s been fully utilised since opening.
The parents of the little boy whose autism sparked this off are talkiing to a couple of other premier league clubs in the hope the idea can be rolled out. I think it’s a splendid idea and I’d be so proud if our club was one of those clubs. It hardly cost anything to implement apparently.
