Super Kelvin Davis - Testimonial

Saints to stage testimonial for club captain Davis

Southampton Football Club is delighted to announce that it has agreed to host a testimonial match for long-serving captain Kelvin Davis at the end of the 2015/16 season.

To celebrate the goalkeeper’s ten-year spell at St Mary’s, the current Saints side will take on the Promotions Eleven – a select squad made up of those who represented the club in its consecutive promotion-winning campaigns of 2010/11 and 2011/12.

The match, which is being organised by Davis’s testimonial committee, will take place at St Mary’s on the evening of Tuesday 17th May – two days after the Barclays Premier League season ends.

Epic news and what a perfect theme. Will be fantastic to see some of the old faces back; a double celebration if you will.

Kelvin’s been a loyal servant through thick and thin - and probably deserves this for Leeds away alone.

Also just to say that I was ITK yesterday.

Good news - it’ll be great to see a few of the players who played such an important part in where we are now, too many to mention.

I still get goosebumps at the thought of a Championship play-off final - the whole future of the club gambled on 90 minutes.

Nige getting us through that division in one go was epic.

It’ll be lovely to see Nicola again as well…I do hope he can make it. :lou_sunglasses:

Will be down for that I reckon.

I’ll head down for that. Hopefully NA will be involved in some way too.

Hope Nigel will be there. And hope Liellana will not be. Brilliant news, well deserved.

I’m well up for this for two reasons.

  1. Kelv deserves credit for his long service
  2. It isn’t a competitive match

Invites to all of the big names from that period, very deliberately leaving out Lallana, would be delicious.

I’ve got a sneaking suspicion he will be there though, as that group was pretty tight knit. I’d be up for a few minutes of abuse (to get it out of the system) and then not letting it overshadow the occasion.

Lallana can fuck right off, the badge kissing cunt.

Toby, Lovren, Lallana, Poch, Osvaldo, Gaston - should be a fantastic reunion!

Be nice for SRL to be involved.

Be great if Papa, Lee Barnard and Guly can be involved too.

I’m getting excited already. :lou_lol:

Yes, we can see that.

Considering the esteem he’s held in by the club, I wouldn’t be so sure. I suspect Les Reed would wipe his arse on the invitation before sending it off.

Honestly don’t know we don’t bring Rickie back home. He doesn’t improve on the first XI, but would always have the backing of the fans when called upon. Would be good for him to finish his career here, maybe impart a bit more knowledge on JWP.

Just Les? I’d have thought they’d pass it round the boardroom.

As the scousers would say; “is right”.

Maybe a few pubes in the envelope. With a note saying:

"Thought these would make a nice addition to your beard.

“Love, Kat”.

Just let Punch do the honours.

He sure does. Fucking great weekend in the North that was.

Going through all of the potential players for the ‘Promotion XI’, I reckon I’ve cracked the most tantalising possible starting lineup:

Bialkowski

Butterfield Seaborne Martin Mills

Lallana Wotton Stephens Holmes

N’Guessan Bignall

Bloody hell. We’ve come a long way, baby… :astonished:
