Temp work required

i have just finished a permanent role, but need work for 6 weeks until we move. Of course I have not told the agencies this as they are not likely to take me on.

I am now trying to think outside the box a little, as I need work from Monday as I require an income.

Any ideas of things I could start straight away? Just spent another 90 minutes with an agency registering, with the 5 agency this week! But still no role. Also these days most companies require an interview with you, before they take you on.

When I used to temp in the early 2000’s you used to go to an agent and they would say, can you start tomorrow. You would go in work for a couple of weeks and then move on to the next one!

Moving early August so only needed for a little while!

Did you used to make Cheesecakes for a living, or am I getting all my old Saintsweb records muddled up?

Not for a living. As I only bring in about £60 a week at the height of sales. This is a hobby/very small business.

I need about £250/£300 a week for 6 weeks, that will do it, for now, to get by.

Gotcha soz.

I done bar-work one time when I was in need, that’s a pretty easy gig to get cos it’s a high turnover industry + they always seem to be looking. All you have to do is lie + say you’ve got experience from all the years you worked at the Painted Legs in Scunthorpe (or some other made up bar name like that)

If you are functionally literate and can speak coherently then you could do worse than teaching English for a few weeks. Plenty of vacancies, most of which are 4-8 weeks long.

I still do not know what I want to be when I grow up. I kind of drift along, with random ideas. I have a very strong credit management and catering background.

I kind of muddle along. Getting away with it (all messed up) great tune! I hate the corporate world, so much, but seem stuck in it!

If you fancy earning money and keeping fit at the same time, have you thought about the agencies that supply local authorities with loaders for the refuse trucks?..they always need cover for sickness etc.

I might look at this. It is only for 6-8 weeks.
