Test Debacle

FFS

WICKET

c Watling b Boult 51

Outstanding from Trent Boult to Joe Root, still reeling from that blow on the fingers. A rip-snorterer from the left-arm paceman gets big on the England skipper and he gloves it behind. BJ Watling leaps to claim the catch.

Why did Root continue batting after that blow from Boult on in his fingers? He could have retired hurt and just returned in the morning. With two balls left and time up the umpires would have just taken the players.

That could be a huge blow to England’s hopes of saving the Test.

Stokes put in some effort but…

It was inevitable after the Kiwis fixed the weather. :lou_sad:

Same as Root last night - could have retired hurt after being rapped on the knuckles. Plays on, gets out next ball.

Some not very intelligent batting all round tbh

JUST GO BACK TO BED.

Barstow & Wood have a total of 100 runs between them.

About the same as everyone else

Bairstow got his ton.

England crept over 300

Broad had a purple patch reduced them to 30 odd for 5 then 142 run record partnership

115 behind 4 wickets left new ball due in morning

Good Test for a change

BJ Wattling.

Is that a cricketer or an oral sex technique?

Isn’t that the definition of Broads career?

Steady day by England. Broad’s streak continued - 6 fer and Anderson picked up 4.

Cook chased a wide one to keep his bad run going but amazingly Vince waited until he was in his 70’s before having a waft, he and Stoneman putting on over 100 and annoying everyone who wanted them dropped by neither kicking on nor being shit.

Steady work by Root and Malan leaves us 231 ahead with 7 wickets remaining.

2 days left to play, 14 overs until the new ball, Kiwis have no reviews left.

Time to kick on, pitch is playing much better apparently. Root will be mindful that he has been chased down for England and Yorl=ks with scores of over 400 in the 4th innings, England need to bat through to at least tea, not helped that the clocks changed and they only put the start forward by 30 minutes so will lose some overs in next 2 days.

Well poised is the best description.

Woke up about 5 and heard on radio that Vince was batting superbly for 74.

Got up, put on TV, saw him get a single, leave one and then get out.

Went back to bed.

NZ need 340 to win on final day 10 wickets in hand.

Bad light cut the number of possible overs.

England didn’t drive home their advantage more accumulated the lead.

Broad lost a bit of rhythm big day for Wood & Leach tomorrow

Broad with wickets from the first two balls

Not sure how long I will stick with this, bloody England not helping by playing well.

Leach takes his first test wicket as Taylor falls. Now 68-3

On a positive note.

Nice to see the Aussies crumble to 115 all out chasing 612 to lose the series :sunglasses:
