Reading that in a dennis hopper voice a la his character from apocalypse now lou_smiley  Doesn't make me agree with it but it's more entertaining.

''You can't sell season tickets, you can't sell season tickets, you know, in like, you know, in fractions! What are you going to sell half a season, one eighth of a season ticket? What are you going to do when you play all the big clubs at home in the first half of the season? That's dialectic physics, okay?  This is the way the football ends. Look at this shit we're in man. Not with a bang, but with a whopper, and with a whopper, I'm splitting, Kat.''

There are so many questions it's difficult to know where to start...

When Bertrand bothers to make a run up the wing on the overlap, why ignore him?

What's the point of Gabbiadini with zero service?

What's the point of Tadic?

Why can't we take a corner?

What's the point of those cardboard clappers?

Is this the worst scoring run in club history yet?

Do I have to keep going or can I sell them back a half season ticket?

How bad are teams below us if we have this many points without trying?

All of this.

On Gabbiadini, his movement and thinking is crying out for that service.  Almost every time we won possession around the half way line, he was making a run between the defence.  Redmond did try to pick Gabbi out a couple of times (thought Redmond was good, esp the first half - it's all about opinionslou_wink).  But most of the time, Gabbi's runs were not even spotted.

Looks like Forster has been pulled in for extra training - exclusive video footage

I’m watching PL Southampton v Burnley hits on sky sports.

Our approach play is really good, but so limp when it comes to the final part. We are playing football the right way, but bloody toothless is an understatement.

Great header for the goal, but Forster did not move his feet quickly enough. I think he should have at least got something on it, but not even near it. Ball was in the net, the dive seemed an after thought!

It was a great header so it's a little churlish to blame Forster, but...

If you watch the point where Vokes contacts the ball, Forster was in the air - bouncing his way back to his line.

IF he'd had his feet on the ground he might have reached the ball.

IF he'd stayed off his line a bit and moved quickly he might have reached the ball.

What happened was that he moved himself as far away from Vokes as possible which meant he had the furthest distance  to travel to get the ball, plus he couldn't start moving until he landed back on his feet. All of which made him look cumbersome and reactive.

| know this is going to be contrary to my original commect but....

Did you see Morata's goal for Chelsea yesterday? Much the same as Vokes' header, but more power, but practically exactly the same.

At least Forster tried to make a move towards it, de Gea was rooted to his line.

I'm actually going to apologise to Forster and cut him some slack on this occasion.

Ummm, I believe every game this season, so far, has been a sell out.

Something has got to change srs! I've mostly managed to avoid watching the games this season, but there is a clear statistical pattern developing. Pellegrino's commitment to Attacking Football resulted in us having more shots than all bar 3 teams again this weekend (continuing pattern for season where we are 5th overall in Shots Taken) but he is leaving the back door wide open! When you allow a team like Burnley to have one shot on target in a game with an Expected Goals factor of 0.17, there is only gonna be one winner.

MP needs to put on hold his experiments with open attacking football and concentrate on shoring up the defence ASAP srs.

Well, we may not win anything else this season but at least Boufal won the goal of the month.

These days, apart from Christmas, the only time I get to see my son is on match days. Saints have failed to score in the last eight home games we've attended, ffs! I suppose we might be jonahs lou_sad

Anyway, byfar and away the best part of the day is catching-up in the pub before the match; indeed, Saints have become so frustratingly predictable – style of play, end result, post-match platitudes – that I'm beginning to think we would be better off, in more ways than one, staying in the pub and forgoing the fucking matches altogether.

It's almost impossible to believe that it was only a couple of seasons ago that we were entertainingly sticking eight pass Sunderland, five in one half against Villa, and four against the likes of Arsenal and Man City. Yes, Mane and Pelle are big losses, but I'm wondering just how effective even they would be under the present set-up.

The other thing that pisses me off is having to watch players wearing our shirt who don't want to be here. Okay, want-away-mercenaries is hardly a new phenomenon, but I'm struggling to recall a time when it's been quite so blatantly in-yer-face obvious.

In short, I'm becoming disillusioned.

Nearly everything is worse than it was before.

Our stadium -  Generic

Atmosphere -  Shit and plastic, don't even mention clappers

Football -  Improved but at a cost of local players

Identity -  None hence why we cling onto Benali and Le Tissier.

Value - None for what you get.

The club dish out some great propaganda like the kids visit today, what the fuck that has to do with us not scoring and playing boring football I haven't a clue but the clappers may be distracted......................

And the rise of "veteran" plastic fans who enjoy moaning about everything being worse than the "good old days", profess to be experts who know better than everyone based on their remote viewing and yet who fall silent when the team plays well.
