The escape of Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán from prison

Amazing the lengths they went to to bust him out of prison. The house they tunnelled from was a fair way away looking at this video!

I suspect it was a piece of cake for cartels that regularly dig tunnels under the Mexican/US border.

When you consider that the Columbian cartels had so much money swishing around they could afford to build their own hand-made submarines, Guzman might even have been miffed that they took so long.

Still depressing, though, that someone just as violent as ISIS should be on the run - again.

Indeed. There’s some suggestions that videoing beheadings was copycatted by ISIS from the Sinaloa cartel/Zetas- not the other way round.

El Chapo’s alleged Twiiter account told Donald Trump. “Keep f–king around and I’m gonna make you swallow your whore words you f–king whitey milks–tter,”…Causing Trump to strengthen up his security detail.

Yeah, I know that beheading people is the absolute worst in bad manners, but just like Hitler, Stalin and any other homicidal maniacs, if you dig deep enough, you can find a good intention within them.

Ooh, that’s interesting for something I’m working on at the moment. You don’t have any sources or references for that by any chance?

Patrick Cockburn book referenced in this article:

And then this hash from the Daily Beast:

Nothing conclusive but seeing as the cartels have been using extreme propaganda for at least 15-20 years then it’s conceivable that Al-Qaeda/IS took their lead from Mexico.

Very useful - thanks!
