The January Transfer Window 2017

This is just a thinly veiled attempt to win the “Football poster of the year - contributes most frequently and/or most knowledgeably on football related threads.” award which we all know that Optimus Trousers is really going to win.

Anyway there seems to have been some movement in the transfer market pre-January so lets put completed and almost completed deals here

Wet Brom bid £13m for Schneiderlin

Oscar seals £60m move to China

To be honest I hope the moves to China picks up momentum and all the foreign mercenaries we have over here go there, it might make the Premier League a more even playing field and might get more English/British players playing in the top league again.

Seriously, what the fuck has happened to Schneiderlin? What a waste.

Oscar on £400k a week (after tax), Tevez on £615k a week (after tax).

Boggles the mind

West Brom would be such a waste. A move to Everton would seem more realistic(realistic in the sense that i have no idea what positions they need to strengthen) as they are a massive club with a big history(so their fans inform me) and money to burn(so the press tell me).

Either way, you’re correct, it’s such a waste of a wonderful player.

No, unfortunately. As i posted in(can’t remember, although it was only 2 minutes ago(more pissed than i care to admit, obviously)), he’s our wonderful past, no more, it doesn’t work.

Shame really, but i do believe it’s a ship that has long sailed.

Semedo would be such a great replacement for José. Think he’s taylor made for the PL. Sign him now.

LeG on the dark side reckons we’ve made our first signing already - a centre back apparently

The BBC are trying to flog VVD for 35 M even some of the comments from non Saints fans are saying that is nowhere near enough for him

haha just been reading the same article! Also says Ross Barkley is worth 35m :lou_facepalm_2:

Ross Barkley & £35m still isn’t enough for VVD. He’s going nowhere, yet. I’m still hopeful(delusional maybe) he’ll be here next season, if we finish this one well.

Bloody slacker…he should be back over here making his predictions again. Hold on I have an idea. :lou_lol:

I had a visitation last night and God appeared and told me Saints won’t be signing a CB this Transfer Window!

That should do it.

Ademola Lookman: Everton expect to complete £10m signing of Charlton forward

19 years old, £10m :lou_facepalm_2: :lou_lol: :lou_facepalm_2:

Reading that article this caught my eye

Everton - with Walsh a key figure - are embarking on a policy of recruiting emerging young talent as well as established players.

The Toffees signed teenager striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Sheffield United for £1.5m in August and the England youth international has figured as a substitute against Arsenal and Liverpool recently.

And I asked myself, why are the buying young talent? With RoKo’s track record here they’ll do nothing but play in the U23’s league!!

In that same link they mention Morgan might go to them for £20m!!

Both us and Wolfsburg have apparently* bid €18m (+€3m add ons) for Gabbiadini from Napoli who we were linked with in the summer.

Been doing well this season but they’ve got a few players coming back from injury and need cash so might be a goer…
