The Leicester City away Thread

So I’d imagine our team on sunday will be same as West Ham

Forster

Seesaws Fonte VVD Bertrand

Romeu

Davis Hoijberjg

Tadic

Redmond Austin

I’m starting to get a bit concerned by our lack of options upfront. Austin’s the only one scoring but he struggles to last a whole game and Redmonds yet to convince me he’s the next Thierry Henry.

My biggest concern is for Shane Long, not only is he off form but he looks mentally jaded at the moment … like the summer’s caught up with him. He could do with a good rest, problem is neither ourselves or Ireland can do without him. Alex Ferguson would have insisted he fake an injury and pull him from international duty. I very much doubt Shane would go down that road tho’ … they’re too damn patriotic, the Irish

Possibly have Rodriguez and Boufal fit after the internationals, so i’m not so concerned about up front. It’s at the back an injury could really hurt us. VVD Fonte and Bertrand are irreplaceable at the moment.

Think your team selection is about right.

1-2 Charlie Austin first and last with some bloke from Leicester scoring in between. You did ask for predictions didn’t you?

I was about to agree with you on the Long analysis. I was going to cite the example of World Cup winners returning to Arsenal disturbingly sated.

However, apart from Fonte’s potential gripe with not getting a well paid bench role, our winners haven’t suffered.

Which one ?

Vardy … Slimani …Musa … Ulloa … or Okazaki

… OH FUCK !!

my prediction … we won’t be keeping another clean sheet unless Fonte wakes up.

Key to this game will be set peices, Huth and Morgan look positivley second rate and shit scared to get near anyone now they are not allowed to get all touchy feely in the box. The optimist in me says 1-0 Saints, Tadic or Austin with a peno depending who’s on the pitch, the gambler says 1-1.

Only one of them Steve.

Which one? Don’t know, don’t care.

It’ll be ruled out for offside anyway as long as the linesman is alert.

José will be fine and we’ll move up the table.

You’ll be a happy man, relax.

Think i might write one of them positivity books. Seems a doddle

It’s the amount of miles Shane puts in, on top the pressure of being main man to score goals ? He’s probably got a case to be a bit more knackered than Fonte and Seesaws. I know the latter bombs up and down the wing but he’s a lot younger than Schlong.

I’d also argue that Fonte looks a bit peaky himself.

Done my first match thread yesterday, so understand the, “what do i say” bit.

Glad you did, as it’s a good time for the club and although it might not be obvious yet, we’re going to start banging in lots of goals very soon(maybe not this Sunday, but soon), Austins getting fitter, Long and Tadic are due goals, Redmond will get there(might be a while), Rodriguez will be back soon(if anyone deserves a bit of luck it’s Jay) and then we have Boufal to come. He’ll be a sensation(i’m going to look such a mug if he flops).

Oh yeah, JWP will get a few, he’s definitely more willing to attack and shoot this season and Boufal is going to win him some free kicks.

All that said and I wouldn’t bet against your two choices. We’ve got the makings of a brilliant team and it’s coming together quicker than i hoped so far.

From what I’ve seen, Shlong’s main problem is that most of his chances have just so happened to fall on his left foot. And it’s fair to say that his left peg is primarily used for standing on and not much else unfortunately. Seriously though, my mum has a better left foot.

I for one never had high hopes for him being our main goalscorer and I certainly hope the club didn’t either because that would be folly in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong, I love a bit of Shlong (pun intended [but not really]), consistent goal scoring just isn’t one of his strengths. His quality lies elsewhere - work rate, stretching the play, pressing from the front and being a general pain in the ass for defenders.

I saw some tripe on sky sports earlier about chances created and converted etc and we were about 5th on the former list but somewhat further down on the latter. That is why it is very important to keep Austin fit in my opinion. His goal against Wham was barely a half chance and goes to show the benefit of having a natural predator.

Shane Long is having a bit of a bad run without scoring, he does though, work well in Puel’s formation. Looks like he will be used as an impact sub, which is pretty smart

Just saw on BBC that Ranieri is not going to stop Vardy’s pre-match ritual of a glass of port before a game… Ffs, what with his red bull and chewing tobacco the guy is clearly using substances to (try to?) enhance his performance - I say he needed to be dope tested, but there again most people will probably think he’s one already…

I used to drink 2 pints before playing for Bishopstoke back in my teens. Scored a hat-trick on my debut for them. But then if I was drug tested I would have been positive 99% of the time as well.

Vardy to cheat a penalty from Fonte.

Long to equalise late.

Good draw.

Quoted simply to annoy everyone reading this on mobile.

Eric is going to the game. If he packed his new Sash shirt & wears it well get clean sheet & point at least…

Sash shirt at the ready. Couple of beers on trains Manc to Leicester, more beers in The Counting House … a few more beers before catching trains to Manc, maybe a beer or two in Manc whilst waiting for bus to Leigh. Hopefully the 90 min break from drinking in the middle will see a continuation of my recently purchased Sash shirts run of 4 wins and a draw. A win would be brilliant, a draw none too shabby the 3rd option is not an option.

Six hours away from kickoff.

If we get a result today, the team selection in Israel is going to look very canny.

Have they not given us the three points yet ?

I was hoping for a couple of hours kip after the Malaysian grand prix
