The Sotonians Local Map

I have always admired this scouse map, partly for its simplicity and broad accuracy, but also because I live in the bit marked “sound” (Barry plans to move to “wools”).

Now we’ve a fine mapping heritage at Sotonians. At least of us have served Queen and country in the esteemed halls of Ordnance Survey.

We also do a fair trade in applying derogatory labels to things.

I’d quite like to do a Sotonians map of the local area.

Give us your derogatory local place names so that I can mark them up. Nothing racist please.

I’m submitting one I mentioned earlier on behalf of @unionhotel - Turd Bay for Weston Shore.

Acccording to the scouse map, Walton is ‘posh’? You could have fooled me!

Could we have a look at the map you want us to comment on? how far North, South, East and West are we going?

Depends on how good the suggestions are :lou_sunglasses:

Thornhill: Lonsdale Stabbery.

Netley View Estate on the Waterside was always known as Cacker’s-Paradise when I was a nipper.

The South of Liverpool, a delight, a sheer delight.

It’s not Derby… TM @barry-sanchez

If sir looks carefully, one will observe the borders, drawn in biro, which clearly mark Walton out as “sound”.

The one in the opening post was just an example. We’re mapping Southampton and surrounds, innit?

Ah right, Yes, i see now. Even so, ‘sound’ is stretching it a bit!

what is “plazzy”?

There, plazzy = plastic scousers, the people who live on the Wirral on the other side of the water.

I suppose our nearest Sotonian equivalent would be your Watersider.

It still is
