Apparently, according to the Echo, el Ramirez has cost Saints £8,000 a minute.

Good bit of business that but who wasn't excited by his prospects at the time?

Mind you he did say that he was only coming here because they were paying him lots of money.

Didn't Alps coin Gashton?

Did he fuck, I got one fuck off warning on Stevesweb for using it after about 2 games, I wasn't wrong, I also picked up that Jonny Depp lookalike as well, he was one cock that lad.

Alpine might not have coined the name but he certainly has been milking it. I cant wait to read his reaction when he finds this out. It might just finally burst that vein in his temple!

Meanwhile, another Gaston makes getting a gig look easy, years after the height of his fame.

Bazza coins the terms and the people follow Pap, you know the score.

Alternatively you could say that - whilst indisputably wasteful - these wages paved the way for our future success. Due to Financial 'Fair Play' we'd have been stuck with even less ability to pay decent wages had we not brought in any high earners before the ruling fully kicked in. We're hindered enough by this as it is.

Also, whilst clearly not on the same scale, Gaston was our Manchester City/'Robinho' in kind. The transfer demonstrated that we're worthy of consideration in the transfer market and arguably opened up the possibility of signing the likes of Wanyama, Lovren (RIP), Mané, Pelle, Bertrand, Forster et al.

I like the answer even though its complete bullshit, we bought an absolute shitebag and we didn't benefit in anyway from it. A very expensive Ali Dia.

Osvaldo wasnt talentless, he was just a fucking lunatic who spent more time thinking about twating someone / hookers than concentrating of scoring (goals, not hookers)

Once I had written off the price tag in my mind, he did make me chuckle with his antics - I used to love the "What has the mad bastard done this time" headlines

Think he might have, maybe you subliminally took it on board?

He was hardly mad just simply a self indulgent twat who couldn't be arsed, hardly a footballing genius. He has been shite for years, hence his number of clubs and no deals.

Useless cunt even gave his shirt to the wrong fans.

it was certainly alpine who coined the name Gashton. It's poor form of Barry to try and steal his glory.

This is just bullshit. It's one of those things that people say, and it shows those people really haven't a clue. Gaston hasn't worked out for us, and that is indeed a shame. But he is neither talentless, nor was he lazy.

Further evidence, Norwich for Champions League (actually relegated) & Ricky van Wolfswinkle is an amazing player (scored 1 goal all season).
