No this is Football not Ice Hockey.
Although they keep tinkering with the offside rule, I wouldnt want it done away with. Play would become streched across the whole pitch. Football is currently like a game of chess because players need to keep an eye on where they are in relation to the defensive line. Once that discipline goes you will have players parked in both penatly areas with the ball being hoofed from one end to the other.
Sin bins are long overdue.

Penalties seem to work. Why mess about with them?
Why 4 quarters? 45 minutes each way works well.
It all sounds very American, so it’s a bad idea.

there’s no need to change the game drastically. It’s great as it is. Use of technology and video replays is about it.

Mind you, if you think about it, there is a case for quarters.
Stay with me …I’m playing devils advocate here…How many time have you sunk a few pints before a game and stupidly broke the seal, meaning you need to pee every 15 mins or so?
Do you see where I’m going? You’d get the opportunity to not piss your pants and the TV guys get their adverts. A win win situation?

All you do is interrupt what i’m trying to watch(i have a such short attention span that i’ve missed many a televised second half because i got pissed off watching adverts and turned it off). Think people underestimate how much the offside rule is a central a part of the game we know - get rid of it and it’s not a cosmetic change but a totally different game.
What sets football apart is that it’s hard to score - goals are hard won and precious (don’t we know it). Change that and you upset the whole balance
