Uddersfield V Saints on the rebound

I reckon there are a fair few teams that’ll visit and leave with less.

well maybe … except for the occasional goals thing

I dount Austin would have been in Bertrand’s position to bury that header as Bertrand only got the space that he did as he was running in from left-back with other players in the box drawing the defenders.

I haven’t seen it today but has Redmond improved to any meaningful extent with us? He was always lacking end product before he joined us and he remains that in my view. With poor decision making to boot.

Not enough goals and nowhere near enough assists.

Just looked at the sky sports player rating and nobody in the front four scored above a six. For me this is where we are lacking real quality - attacking midfield rather than upfront necessarily.

Our inability to nick goals is very frustrating.

Is there a case to be heard for developing a system that incorporates Gabbiadini AND Austin? At least then we have two players who can score goals on the pitch. Redmond, Davis and Tadic have just got too few goals in them.

Rant over.

I have done the decent thing and dropped Gabiadinni from my Fantasy Football team.

I am sorry for putting him in in the first place.

I only listened to it on Solent and Mr. Merrington was saying what I’ve been saying for a long time…there is nobody in the team that can make a forward pass to supply Gabbiadini on a regular basis.

Everything is played sideways…it’s is unimaginative and ponderous. It gives the opposition time to set-up and counter. We played like that last season and I see no change…so far. We need to mix our plays…Gabbi must be getting very frustrated. He must have thought the message had finally got through last week when Redmond supplied him with the through ball for him to score his first goal of the season. However the rest of the game was business as usual.

The midfield need to be told the first thing to look for when you receive the ball is look for Gabbi’s runs…because, be sure he will be making them. Put him in a team that plays the early ball forward he will score a hatful.

Spot on. One of the reasons I wanted a Sigurdsson type. Sadly it seems as though we are priced out of that level/quality of player.

The point i am trying to make is that two good chances were missed in front of goal, strikers chances. Both fell to defenders, not their fault, they are not strikers. One of our strikers was subbed and the other one was kept sat on his arse on the bench for the 90 minutes. It’s negative, playing the last third of the game with no striker when it’s 0-0 with all to play for is disappointing to say the least. We have had a gentle opening to the season with Swansea and West Ham at home and Huddersfield away. we have done OK with a win and two draws but i fear when we get to play the likes of Man U, Chelsea etc we will be struggling. Newcastle battered West Ham today which puts our result and performance last week into perspective.

Fraser was good.

So was Forster

I was at the Birmingham v Reading game (work). Shitty stadium, awful traffic. I was keeping an eye on Sam Mcqueen, though he hardly got a touch, such was the paucity of Birmingham so that’s not really useful

He probably didn’t get a touch because he’s still at Saints. Your thinking of Sam Gallagher

Yes I got my Sam’s wrong sorry :grimacing:

Bloody good day out … really friendly locals who are still living the dream and good luck to them.

Plenty of beer consumed pre and post match. Some pretty piss poor passing and controlling the ball in midfield, no vision or penetrating passes so only one chance for Gabbi. Redmond and Bertie both should have scored but it would have been an injusstice to Huddersfield who kept pressing us till the last 10 mins. Seen a lot worse 0-0’s but we must impose ourselves more.

Sadly didn’t see any Homing Pigeons or Ferrets.

Would have been my first of the season bar a wedding, Huddersfield is a great place for the ale, loads of boozers in the town centre.

Very very posh just outside of Huddersfield, commuter distance to Manchester and Leeds and still living a rural lifestyle, some of the villages are stunning and they charge a stunning price believe me, the ferret men and pigeon fanciers alas have long gone, its range rovers and posh mix breed dogs.

Do they have a tower?

Huddersfield castle hill, yes of sorts, we have the ariel off the Ikea building…
