Take a look at the documentaries, film and TV threads. That’s where Ted adds real industry insight, passion and value.
Fair enough if that is the case Bletch. I’ve not really looked at those threads much. Was simply commenting on my experiences of all the other places I have seen Ted post.
Probably best if a person has nothing worth adding to a topic, that they just don’t add anything to it.
I’ve never had a pot noodle, srs. I always thought they sounded Gross. One of the secretaries tho, she heard about this, and she just put one on my desk. She says she wants to watch me Eat It. I think she might be pervert. It is Beef & Tomato Flavour.
Indeed. There have been times when he’s still been an important player for us this season. But even apart from his lack of respect for our Club, the sulking, the many half-hearted performances etc. Even when he has been on his game – his disciplinary issues have let both himself and us down badly.
As others have said (and you already know my feelings on this) Romeu has been class for us, and deserves his place in the team. He’ll be fine with Clasie next season and a strong addition in Vic’s mold , yet without the temperament issues.
I’m still trying to get the image of Oriel standing in a puddle of Mighty Kenyan mold out of my brain!!
As others have said, Vic has been consistently inconsistent this season, his best games have been against clubs that he would love to move to. Oriel I was dubious about at the beginning of the season but just recently he has really stepped up to the plate so I have no qualms in sacking the Mighty Kenyan off and getting an understudy to Oriel in.
Back on topic. Vic has had a poor season. I haven’t forgotten his Euro-strop. His form has been patchy and he’s missed too many games through suspension. I do think some of his cards have been a little harsh though.
When he is on song he is a beast though. If he won’t sign a contract extension (which would be my preferred option) then we should take the best offer we can get for him.
Think West Ham may be a likely destination for him personally.
I think I’ve probably seen enough. Not enough quality game time, not helped by his very poor decision making and nearly breaking the Premier League record for red cards in one season. If he’d been sent off for Leicester, that would have been him into next season.
Unfortunately, many players are going to look at our more notable successes plying their trade at the giant clubs of Europe and conclude that this is a stepping stone. Long term, we’d all like our players to stay and play for the shirt. Wanyama hasn’t seemed to want to do either much this season.
Few can do what Wanyama can when on song - he can single-handedly wrestle you 3 points. Otherwise… Well, let’s just say I don’t agree with a lot of the criticisms. His limitations are almost brought on by his strengths.
At full application he could probably start for any top 4 club.
The question is whether he can he do it consistently? If not then sell to the highest bidder.
Hey! You wind your neck in there, Jack. No one has a pop at Ted Maul, not on my watch.
Sorry mate, but if someone comes into a topic I started, critising me, the thread, and the forum (without good reason) – then I’m going to defend and counter.
There was absolutely no need for Ted to make the comments he did, and had he not done so – I would never have had any intention of publicly critisising Ted, or his contributions. But once he felt the need to make those needlessly critical remarks about me/the topic – he opened himself up to hearing my own opinions expressed about him. Fair is fair mate.
I’m sure most people can at least understand my stance on that, regardless of how much they might like Ted.
But again, what I hoped was going to be a decent topic, is being derailed in side discussion, so if you want to discuss the matter further, then please feel free to raise it in the “Beef” thread, and I’ll be happy to respond there.
Nah, not at all. I respect your contributions to the forum. And, when you’re not looking through my eyes – then it’s probably a fair comment.
To briefy explain, it’s pretty simple:
Had it been pretty much anyone else making the comments I responded to, I’d either have simply ignored the post, or, left my reply at the bit about not visiting St. Mary’s much.
It was because the comments came from literally the only member of the board, who when I read their posts, I think “Jeez, what on earth does this guy bring to the forum? It’s like a litter-bug wandering 'round an otherwise nice community, dropping little pieces of trash as he goes, and lowering the quality of the place.”
It is because the comments came from the one poster who’s contributions I’ve seen here (obviously I’ve simply not seen the brilliant passionate ones Bletch refers to) I feel to be poor quality, and offer nothing of value, which had been grating on me for a while. My thought process was “omg – this guy, of all people, is making derrogatory remarks about my content!? You couldn’t make it up!”
That is why I felt the need to respond as I did. My humble apologies if that has rubbed people up the wrong way.
FAO: Pap and or Bletch.
If you get a free moment, and could find the time to clear out all the trash (side disscusion) including my own of course, to the “Beef” thread, so that we can simply have a topic about big Vic as intended – it would be much appreciated. Thanks.
you’re apology is worthless as you’ve not only been rude again but this time you’ve been even ruder. You’ve written some unpleasant things in your last post about a fellow sotonian and to make it worse it’s completely misguided and inaccurate. Then you have the temerity to ask for the insults to be moved to the beef thread… Presumably including the last post of yours?
I’ll put it on record, Ted is one of my favourite posts on this board. You don’t like his posts, fine, but your rudeness is unnecessary and does you a disservice.
