Villa drinks

All aboard the booze bus!

Rockstone?

Think we need to change it up. Hasn’t been a lucky pub for us.

I’m open to suggestions!

I’ll be there. Just name a pub (and tell me where it is if I don’t know).

I think we all suspected as much.

I think you need to give the rockstone another chance! I used to drink there when we got to the ZDS final… Don’t mention our manager at the time!

Alex is a good one and a good location!?

Bletch will swear by The Stable. Not a pub strictly, but bench seats, and the three main offerings are pies, pizza and cider. Ok they sell other alcohol, but its time for you Real Ale pansies to broaden your horizons :lou_wink_2:

I will not be there however. Taking my 82 year old Dad to his first game in years, and while he likes a beer, walking any distance is not easy for him so we will go straight to SMS. See you for Spurs.

I don’t mind the Alex at all. It has old school consoles at the back! Little bit easier for anyone coming by train, and practically equidistant from St Marys to the Rockstone.

Actually quite amusing for the villians - and the song works quite well… although have now got ‘spirit in the sky’ going round in my head…

Alex sounds good. Not been there for years.

I’ll be at Sadlers, in London Rd before and after game. Its our old Footy Club reunion piss up. If I remember, I’ll try and look in and say hi.

Used to be my daytime local when I worked in London Road, good place. Its probably changed since 1989 though.

Not as you would notice. Beer is pretty shite still as well.

Alex good for me.

We’ll definitely do better than the last time I was there - Fowllyd’s birthday in Jan 2009 (his 65th I think…), lost to relegation rivals Doncaster Rovers. Knew we were going down

Doesn’t look a day over 64.

Been saying since the start of the season that I would meet my old boss for a pre-match drink as we did that a lot last season but haven’t once in 2015-16.

If he gets in touch then I’ll be down the White Star and it’s a bit of a trek to do both… But otherwise The Alex suits me. Was one of my most regular haunts when I was living on The Polygon.

Top tip: beer-wise, it’s all about the Timothy Taylor ‘Landlord’ in there. Or a pint of Hoegaarden if you’re feeling flush.

Feeling delicate this morning, but this will not prevent me from getting along to the Alex for 1pm. I am bringing my oft-mentioned but non-posting “friend that knows about football”.
