One more thenā€¦I shall go to bed erect

Lovely voice, terrible face

Itā€™s a fucking awful rendering from black and white image. The green and reds are the shadows

Children from the same album is haunting as fuck .

Saw The Sugarcubes at Pompey Guildhall many years ago. I knew she was special even then.

My favourite ever band tee shirt was bought that day - sadly long since fallen to pieces.

Ah man, that sounds awesome. Iā€™m very jealous.

Iā€™ve been trying to get myself properly into her ahead of playing Primavera. I saw her a few years ago at Bestival, and outside of one or two hits didnā€™t really know her stuff, so it kind of washed over me. Determined for that to not happen this time around.

Itā€™s being helped by some fortuitous timing too. I got added to a Facebook group last year called Temporary Fandoms - they carry out ā€˜Immersionsā€™ where an artist is chosen, and then everyday the whole group (or those participating at least) listen to an assigned album in their back catalogue, then discuss their thoughts. Itā€™s a really fun group, and they are currently going through Bjork.

But you are, of course, quite right. Sheā€™s a very special talent.

Accidentally wondered into a massive vinyl market in Shoreditch on Friday. Whilst rummaging through I found a copy of this album at an unfathomably low price.

It is now part of my collection :lou_lol:

The fate of Sujanā€™s backing singersā€¦St. Vincentā€¦millions of YouTube viewsā€¦My Brightest Diamond (Shara Worden/Nova) 297 viewsā€¦incredible.

My Dad was a Prison Officer and he ran the inmates music library.

I used to go to Woolworths on a Saturday morning to buy singles for him/them.

When the inmates had finished with them (and sometimes before they had) I got to keep them.

I had this (minus iconic cover) but sadly no longer know where it is.

Much better than their most famous song in my humble opinion.

Usually I post new and upcoming shit on this thread, but right now Iā€™m listening to Endtroducing by DJ Shadow, which is just about as perfect an album as has ever been made IMO.

For me it will always be the soundtrack to the night I moved from my home town of Winchester, to Edinburgh, via a 12-hour overnight bus. Excitement, fear and surreal magic.

I remember my last year at uni and this album seeming really modern at the time. Itā€™s 100% made from samples. Which was unique then.

Yeah absolutely. The real brilliance is that a completely cut and paste album can sound so coherent and of-a-piece.

I used to work in a record shop and this is the one album weā€™d never play in the shop, in case it became tainted with memories of work. Itā€™s too good for that.

Reminds me of that scene from High Fidelity where John Cusack sells the Beta Band,
