On a serious note, you are right. It does grate on the nerves sometimes when you see news introās showing off the Spinnaker, HMS Victory and the Mary Rose.
We have patchy remnants of the old city walls, The Bargate which looks well out of sorts with all the new development surrounding it and a rather feeble Mayflower monument celebrating our ānot strictly accurateā claim as the final departure point for the Pilgrim Fathers voyage to America.
I know we have the best shopping in the south blah blah but having the West Quay Centre as the main focal point of the Southampton skyline, doesnāt really generate feelings of pride.
What we need is a monorail.

What you on about you slag, our City the City I love is shit, dull and absolutely 100% the crappest for its size in the nation, for touristās what is there? For residents what bulidings do we have that the World no the Country no even that the county no Jesus not even that the citizens of the place that can take pride in?
Its fucking woeful and the skates have a well better City for local pride, we have a clock tower and a wall which in the grand scheme of things is embarrassing to mention.
