No none of the above option?

CB Fry

CB Saint posted this 17 July 2015

guan - only because whe he posts stuff it tends to be accurate gossip about the club

saintbletch posted this 17 July 2015

saintbletch or pap.

In that order.

Unrelated question: how do you do two downvotes?

Anyway, MLG by a country mile.  Whenever he skewers some ludicrous bullshit with a simple fact he gets hammered for it, but nine times out of ten he's right.

He does get a rough ride.

I though we'd all come to an unofficial agreement that we'd only ever call that place steveweb or fiverweb when discussing on papsweb?

CB is the Woody Allen of Steveweb, in that I preferred his earlier funnier stuff.  I've read posts of his recently where he's actually nice - which is about as right as smoked haddock tasting of custard.

I like it when CB Fry is nice! Nothing wrong with a bit of contrast.

Perhaps he's getting in some practice prior to another attempt to join the Nice Guys; although, like you Furball, I think I prefer his earlier work: nobody does biting irony - or is it sarcasm? - quite like CB Fry.

My poll creating skills are still subpair and I accidentally activated the poll when trying to enter that option.  I was also planing to include MLG and couldn't because I had already activated.

I am not a big fan of calling things by stupid insulting names which seem less and less clever as time passes.  Is that an English thing?

MLGs problem is that he comes across as if he is well along the spectrum. Probably the biggest pedant I have ever come across on forums, and that is saying something.  Alpine's Mr Angry persona is always good for a laugh in small measures but does grate after a while. He is nothing if not consistant. Fry clearly has some narsissistic stuff going on and seems to get off on belittling people. I have gone for Guan for while he is clearly batshit crazy he does seem to be ITK and it is great to think of someone so unhinged being close to the working of the club.

Yeah I think English people appear to have more of a sense of humour.  Do you think the name 'papsweb' is stupid and insulting?

I seem to be in the minority with C B Fry and alone in thinking he is just a jumped up internet bully and a prize jerk. Over the years I have been on various forums and log on to read the gossip about the football club I support and to join in with some friendly banter. I dont like to read posts where people are just trying to make themselves bigger by belittling others or to be on the end of that behaviour. We all get wound up by others and sometimes overreact, but to come on each day looking for targets to attack (I guess it is know as trolling) is something that shouldnt be tolerated, especially when it goes too far, as it often does. You expect this stuff with kids, but it doesnt sit right when grown men with children behave like hormonal teenagers. I know I sound like a true sadoldgit, but I still believe that you can have a laugh without behaving like a total cunt.

Not sure why being on the 'sprectrum' is a 'problem'.  I spend an awful lot of my time around people with Asperger's (not on here, I hasten to add) and they're the easiest to get along with in the usual give-and-take of life.  MLG may be a pedant but he's also mostly right.  The 'problem' is the vitriolic and churlish responses which seem to follow even the most innocuous of his posts.

Tsk.  How long have you been on Internet forums?   Long enough to know that "on the spectrum" is the go-to way to say "you're mad, but it's not your fault.   Look at how benevolent we are for understanding".

Well, if you were that fucking good, chaps, you'd presumably be on a huge doctor's salary.   What are you doing all day on an Internet forum?   Haven't you got patients to see?

I didnt mean it in a pergortive sense although I did used to work with someone with similar issues and it was a nightmare. Apart from being in my office every five minutes explaining why their colleagues were doing everything wrong, they also had no social skills and would often bring unfounded complaints against their workmates and myself. I am sure MLG is a perfectly nice chap and is just overly dilligent.
