Why isn't the Telford scandal being covered by the BBC?

Heard it being covered on the Radio 4 news programme a short while ago.

They are all in Frankie Howard having a disaster avoidance meeting.

If ever there was an opportunity for the BBC to stand tall and make a big, bold statement about how much it values the idea of valuing values, then surely this is it!

Can’t see it on the website, why have the other outlets got it and not the national news provider?

I have no idea Barry, but then I don’t work for the BBC. If it bothers you so much why don’t you contact the BBC and ask them?

And many have and they won’t answer, too late now they’ve been found out, at least I now know who won crufts…

par for the course: as with his criticism that no fans have started protesting to SFC.

I clicked the link and at the bottom of the page clicked on the link for Telford. It shows this article as being up 4 hours. I went back to the beginning of this thread and it said that the first post was 3 hours ago.

Edit: it’s not the same article, more a quick couple of paragraphs.

No a whippet.

Better late than never, Unilad may have to move over to the BBC , I’m seeing on the beebs website there’s now non stop flights over to North America and Rhodesia is going to be renamed Zimbabwe…

What a tease.

No mention of who commited the crimes either, it was however placed in the highly prominent Shropshire section of the BBC news, right next to cow rustling and cheese rolling, there’s no pc agenda going on here at all is there…

Awful woman. Posted an alleged death threat she had received, then was forced to admit the e mail had been edited and the words “unless you die” had been added by her. Then there are the numerous allegations of her bullying her staff. She left a series of voicemail messages to a sick employee, which included threats of dismissal. I find it thoroughly depressing that people still vote for the likes of Lucy Allen, in the face of all evidence that she is totally unfit for any kind of public office, never mind being an MP.

And you know this how? How many is ‘many’?

Perhaps they were, oh I don’t know, doing journalism and investigating the facts before they posted anything rather than speculating and jumping to conclusions.

Typical Soviets cop out. Hang them all I say, expect me and chewy of course.

From a little search it looks like this has been covered several times by the BBC website as the prepetrators of some of the crimes were sentenced in 2012. I can see another article about a review in 2015. Lucy Allen also asked for an inquiry in October 2016. What is possibly new is the number of victims over the last 40 years? I think if you look at each place where there have been concerns re CSE then you will find a large number sadly. There are many cities and towns and probably some villages that we haven’t yet heard about.

We all knew or I did from looking its an old case but its the amount of people now that they know were abused, why were the bbc so late to this when others were on it yesterday, the bbc are getting hammered for the “neutral” stance on this.

Better late than never but still on the Shropshire page, as a sidenote the bbc are bang on or before others when it comes to threatening letters to Muslim mp’s.
