I attend my union agm yesterday and a woman whose partner was put in detention twice to.be deported spoke. Only when the Guardian raised this did he get leave to remain. Apparently a lot of MPs were told about this before it hit the news and didn’t do much about it

He had leave to remain. He was also in care as a child. The local government would have been his parent.
The inhumanity of this system.

They should be reimbursed for all that they have lost. To the full amount. I know a EU citizen who was also treated abysmally a few years ago just because she had a child and couldn’t work. She should have been compensated too. It may be the next challenge.
