Fair play to PS on this, I called up the support line straight after I realised what a prat I am. Spoke to a very nice, and helpful lady. Just got an email through that they are refunding me for my error, which they don’t usually do.

Good to hear. In my dealings with them I have generally found them helpful.
My flatmate bought Driveclub when it first came out i.e. wasn’t really finished yet. He basically just decided he didn’t like it anyway and tried to wangle a refund on the basis of it being ‘not as described’.
He was slightly rumbled when they looked at the Driveclub trophies syncronised on his profile, indicating that he’d put in a fair few hours of gameplay…
Ha yeah, the lady on the phone did say I can see you haven’t played, which helps your case. I’d advise not playing it at all.
They were reasonably fast as well, called last thing on Friday and got the email through today. They said on the phone it could be over a week before I got a reply at all. Pretty happy with that service.
Just played my first game of PES 2017 with the youngest. Smashed her Liverpool side 4-0 with my Saints side. A highly contentious feature is the way it tracks versus stats over time. That’s going to hurt for one of us eventually. Probably me. Today, I won using a strategy that I suspect just wouldn’t be possible in FIFA. Quick, one touch passing - most of my goals had at least five passes in them.
They’ve fixed the overpowered sliding tackle from 2016. That version of the game seemed to go out of its way to put your player’s foot on the ball in a sliding challenge, thus rendering it legal but totally unrealistic. 2017 punishes a lot more, as it should.
I’ve already set up all the Premier League clubs. Going to put La Liga in today. The aim is to get PES 2017 as official-looking as can be. As long as they keep making football games this responsive, it’s worth the bother.
Yeah, having played the demo of both I think I’ll move back to PES this year. Was ISS/PES for years until a few years ago. There never used to be a contest - FIFA wasn’t a consideration until PES dropped the ball in terms of gameplay. FIFA have had the upper hand on both gameplay and looks until (possibly) last year. This year I think PES has edge ahead again.
I’ve been playing a bit of Master League this morning. That’s a fun experience. Once you’ve edited the teams you’re good to go. This is far from unique to PES, but one of the things I love about modern football games is the zoomed out view. It’s why I loved Sensible Soccer back in the day.
I’m still not that much cop, tbh. Don’t know half the skill moves I should (or any, for that matter). I’m your basic space exploiter at the moment. Through balls and crosses are my bread and butter, and if that sounds like I’m cheesing the game, it ain’t cheap. Delightfully, these tactics only work if there’s space or you weigh the defence and your attack properly.
Just beaten Hull 4-2. I am unhappy that they got their goals. I’m playing on PS4 if anyone fancies a game.
He’s a filthy bastard. Precisely two thirds of his goals came from rushing my defender after the goalie kicked it out. Never ever short pass from the goalie when playing KRG.
One game a piece though. Sweaty stuff.
EDIT This is characteristic of the filth KRG employs
I’m giving Master League a proper go in PES 2017. Going very well, and as an overall videogame footballing experience, much more satisfying than the likes of Football Manager. Results on the field are earned, or at the very least, cheesed into existence with approaches to goal that you know work.
Bought Pedro from Chelsea at the start of the season, but sold him in the window. Boufal sold too. The new team has Walcott on the right wing (Redmond is backup) and an Argentian youngster better rated than Boufal, but four years younger.
I’ve not lost a game, and have dropped two points all season. I’m making Leicester look at underachievers. This is on the regular difficulty. While by no means elite, you have to stay alert. You get the odd game where everything goes in, but you rarely tonk anyone. Most of my victories have been tight 1-0 or 2-0 affairs.
Don’t think I’ve gotten through an entire season of Master League before. I’ve got 14 games left in the PL, still in the “English Cup”, and in the knockout stages of the Europa League. Everything to play for. Think I’ll finish this one.
