That’s not strictly true. Although an over 16 can legally drink with a meal, it is at the landlords discretion. Most say no, at the best of times and I’d imagine they’d be even less likely on a match day.

Cheers, saves me wasting time & money trying. My older lad just used to show his provincial licence even though he was 17, he got away with it half the time because the barman never bothered to check it or was too dopey to work out the age. That was 12 years ago when they weren’t so hot.
I may get the nipper to try that, especially as it’s 2017 so without thinking a busy barman may be on the look out for anyone born in 2000’s whereas he’s late '99.Only issue is whether they’ll take the licence off him, or just chuck him out for taking the piss .
