Playing devil’s advocate, if he has been doing it for a long time and claims he is addicted, has he actually done anything about it? You can have treatment for these conditions. Perhaps he has and it hasnt worked? But as I said before, he had a choice, he could have gambled on any number of things and left the footie alone couldnt he?
I am skeptism in this being Illness, seems bit cop-out. We are all suffer Temptation. I am Temptation to jack it while sat at my work desk approx 15 times per day, but I Resist, or at least most often go to the Toilet first. I read Barton’s statemement, and most of it was blaming his “illness”, blaming the FA, blaming other players, even blaming his own family. Fkn weasel.
