Bucks the problem that we have here as can be attested by my aunt who has lost both her lower limbs, is that even the stumps get cold so a warm sock / mitten is required to keep hypothermia away. as she also has two artificial legs these also for conventiality require the use of Stockings (we shall call these female socks for the purpose of this) for both legs to look the same which is what I forsee in your foot removal scheme.
In short if you remove a foot you will still need both socks and extra elastoplast to stop one sliding down the plastic attachment (this is where Bearsy comes in )
