Ligue 1 outfit Saint-Etienne are reportedly considering swooping for Claude Puel this summer, with his Southampton future uncertain.
According to a report from the printed version of French media outlet LâEquipe today, as cited by Sport Witness, the Saints boss is on Saint-Etienneâs list of potential candidates to take up the managerial post ahead of the coming campaign.
Puel has overseen a mixed first season at the helm of Saints, helping them to a cup final and stability in the league, but several of the Southampton faithful have failed to really take to the Frenchman and have been growing increasingly disgruntled by his decision-making and his style of play.
Saint-Etienne boss Christophe Galtier is confirmed to be leaving the club at the end of the season, so the French side will be keen to have a replacement lined up quickly ahead of pre-season.
