Things that make you go WOW!

Are you sure she’s not up to some secret gusset typing?

Sfcsim, I’ve watch the starling roost at Westhay Moor on the Somerset Levels a few times. It certainly is an awe-inspiring sight, especially during harsh winters when the cold weather causes more birds to move south from Scandinavia; during these winters the Westhay roast has been estimated at up to 9 million birds. It’s amazing to see so many starlings moving together in such a way that the mind and eye can easily be fooled into believing 9 million individual entities have suddenly become a single living organism.

Another awe-inspiring sight I was fortunate enough to witness whilst walking along a Devon cliff was a peregrine falcon swooping pass my head to take out an unsuspecting pigeon. Its speed was incredible. They’ve been clocked at 242mph, apparently.

The weird quantum world makes me go wow

… or something

When I suggested a double slit experiment to my ex-girlfriend and her best friend, it was more of an OW moment not a WOW moment.
