When I was doing my Industrial year in france there was another English guy there as well, we were both lodging in a French University’s digs so had plenty of fun.
One night, I think it was Beaujolais release day, we were in a disco and there was this stunning blonde Franch girl there who had all sorts of hangers on. My mate went up to her, he was pretty sozzled by this point, and said in perfect French “It’s like flies round shit with you isn’t it?”. As there really is no comparable phrase in French he then had to spend 5 minutes explainging what he meant, then spent the rest of the night “elsewhere” if you know what I mean!!!
