Following last night’s thread concerning people getting miffed about not getting points, I’m asking if the site wants to continue using the Leaderboard system.

Well, that’s why it runs year to year, and we do things like big point scoring competitions to get people on board. Still, if no one plays, like.
Rest assured, we’ve got a shitload of numbers that can be summarised over any time period, or have other assessments made. I’ve already got a couple of ideas for the end of the year.
I liked it last week. Less so this week. 
Urrmm, is that the thing at the bottom of every page, or is there a specific leaderboard? Personally I don’t care, as this site can be a little sycophantic and can lead to people just saying what they think others want to hear, but I’m sure others would disagree.
I agree with Thatcher, this site leads people to say what others want to hear.
This is the site to ‘feel the love’ 
If you want misery, bitterness and generally being a cunt to each other… we know where we go for that masochistic experience.
Therefore, less fussed about the leaderboard, but points for decent posts and appreciation of being normal human beings is not a bad thing. Appreciate what Cherts is saying re a little sychophantic, but to paraphrase my old Gran,’‘if you can’t be a say something nice about someone or something, then you should just shut the fuck up’’

Agree with this. I’m not too bothered about the leaderboard, but if you take away the ability to like posts I will go and start Spudsweb.
I still like the leaderboard, but i am never going to get into Europe or the champions league places… 8th all the way!

The trouble is I don’t have the technical skills, the time (usually) or the dedication. Thankfully despite my laziness, pap has stepped up and has done a great job of saving me £5 a year and for that I am eternally grateful!
I think there should be more points for the very first original (say first 3 or 4) members. I enjoy showing the table to my friends, family and neibours/passers by but have been embarressed that having a child has made me slip down the rankings. Also ps there should be patternity points.
It’s your spelling that should embarrass you.
