Nice.
I saw them at Glasto in 2010, I think. Enjoy the new stuff Iāve heard. Would be up for seeing them there again this year.

Had Crossfaith on Thursday at the Wedgewood Rooms, Seething Akira last night at The Hobbit and itās Heck tonight at The Joiners.
Can this run of epic gigs never end, please? / Oh god it hurts, make it stop!
Heck were epic tonight. They always are. Simply the most chaotic band in the land and a perfect way to wrap up a whirlwind four days.
A few picsā¦
Crossfaith:
Heck:
Currently listening to Weezer and getting very excited for seeing them tonight.
13 year old me is going to completely lose his shit.
SPOILER: Weezer were ace, as ever. Now if only they came here more than once every 5 yearsā¦
They were indeed Ant.
They say they are back again in the summer for Glasto, Reading & Leeds etc. Though looking at their tour scheduele, I donāt really know how.
Youāre right - that does seem odd. Not sure any of those would be much good for me, unfortunately.
I was mega lucky in 2011 as they did the Blue/Pinkerton show at Brixton, which was followed by a Sonisphere set 2 days later (both of which I attended). The Soni setlist had some gems they play less often (āDope Noseā springs to mind) so it was a great mix.
Last nights set ticked most of the boxes for me, tbh. Would have liked Keep Fishinā but didnāt really expect them to play it.
Iād be more than happy if they do make an appearance at Glasto. Would be a great mid-afternoon band
Going to see Sleaford Mods at the Sala Apolo, Barcelona tonight
Went to see MUSE last night at the Manchester Arena, they were as awesome as ever. God that man can play the guitar and piano and the band can put on a hell of a showā¦ AMAZING!
Sweeeeet!
Monday at The O2 for me. My most-seen live band but havenāt caught them for a while as I hated āThe 2nd Lawā.
Drones of course features a lot in their set, as it is the Drones tour. Much heavier riffs, but such a great āshowā they put on. One of the best live acts I have seen along with Prodigy, Faithless, arcade fire and Maiden.
I remember the first time I saw them in 2003 I just stood their with my jaw dropped in amazement with the sheer breathtaking music that the 3 piece were creating.
great review.
Muse on Thursday for us. Sure Iāll need sunglasses for lots of flashy lights.
Off to see Love Revisited at The Brook in July - the last band of Arthur Lee and Love. Saw him there over 10 years ago. (Flyd Owl will be a long in a minute to tell me how long ago it was). I know itās over 10 years because itās 10 years since he died.
Going to see Graham Parker in September (I think) at a tiny arts centre near Newbury where I saw The Handsome Family. Great venue, intimate and friendly.
I shall be attending Explosions in the Sky at the Royal Albert Hall tonight.
Despite having waited about 5 years to see them live, Iām approaching this with some trepidation. Mostly unfair on their part, but given their style (ambient, atmospheric, instrumental), combined with a spectacular reemergence of my insomnia and the setting. I fear it might all get a bit much.
I was expecting an intense show as it was, but this may be more than I had bargained for.
Arrived in Brighton on Monday a day early for the Calexico gig at The Brighton Dome on Tuesday evening. Parked the car and got our bags for the short walk to our hotel. Just outside the car park were three decorated telephone junction boxes and this was one of them.
The observant among you will have spotted the Sotonian Centurion badge.
Tuesday evening: As usual the Calexico gig was fantasticā¦yes I know Iāve been a fan for nearly 20 years but they never disappoint, I try to be unbiased_ _ ā¦in fact I think they get better every time we see them. For the last 5 years we have been lucky enough to be on the guest list through a link with band leader John Convertino. Hereās a picture ofā¦left to rightā¦
My good lady Jacqui, Friend Sue, John C, myself and Jairo Zavala (guitar/pedal steel guitar).
Honourable mention to Gaby Moreno too who was support last nightā¦great voice and with the other members of Calexico did a killer cover of Ry Cooderās āAcross the Borderlineā
Great pics 'Slowlane!
As for Explosions, they were brilliant. Itās quite a new experience (for me, at least) to go to a gig and here a few words at the start
āHi, weāre from Texas. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to play such an incredible venueā.
And then not a single word for their hour and a half set.
I started a more in depth review, itās something I feel I want to write. But thereās a lot there, they are a band of significant personal importance. I drafted something, and it got too long, and personal. Itād be boring for anyone else to read.
So, just that it was an intensely emotional experience, and thoroughly enjoyable at that.
Wow, that sounds like a special night KRG. It wouldnāt bore me if you posted your review, but Iād understand if it was too personal.
'slowlane Iām very jealous. Saw them on the last tour in London which was stunning. The brass section is amazing live. By the way, that pic needs to go on Intinikiās gig photos thread. Also can I have Sueās number (asking for a friend).
