Arguably, that’s what’s happened to Sterling under Pep’s guidance, but I still wouldn’t pick him for Saints or England because he’s a nasty little shitbag.
I may have been a bit harsh in my opinion of Pep this morning.
Aactually, it has occurred to me that we Saints fans should give him a proper award.
In fact, I’m kinda jealous that HE got to deliver the bollocking to Redmond that every Saints Fan has been dying to give for the past year.
‘I was telling Nathan Redmond how good he is at the end,’ Guardiola told the BBC. 'Southampton have some super talented players, Redmond is so good one against one. Last season he destroyed us here.
'But they didn’t want to play, they were time wasting from the ninth minute. I just wanted them to play.
See, basically, Redmond is supposed to be the dogs bollocks but simply plays like a twonk.
Thanks Pep, hopefully Redz will be back on the bench Sunday while proper footballers who want to play tear Bompey a new one.
I have watched their goal from every angle on Man City website. It was poor school age/Sunday league marking/ball watching. Sterling passed the ball for the one, two and 3 Saints players all went with the ball and left Sterling unmarked for the ball back. Not only this, it gave him the time needed to size up the shot. Still good finish, but poor defending.
I feel really gutted about this result, not because we deserved anything really, but because the injustice of it all. The amount of injury time was criminal. First time I have felt truly gutted about losing a game, since the Cup final.
The bit where he says “I’m playing the way the manager wants me to” makes me think he’s not happy about the role he’s being asked to play. Even more reason for the shitcunt to be dropped.
It would be totally sweeeeet if Man City bought Redmond. I’d like it a lot, even if Redmond turned out to be awesome for Pep. I just don’t see him being that sort of player for us, and genuinely think Boufal is the better prospect.
errgh. I’ve spent hours dicking with usernames and passwords on this site and others.
Anyway, I haven’t seen much talk about how ‘parking the bus’ against shit teams is bad, but doing the same with good teams is ok. Have all our shitty results been a learning curve in how to only get beat by 1 vs ManC? Has Pellig been really focussed on the big teams and only used Wolves as practice (to get beat by only one goal)?
I have just run out of patience with Redmond. Zero time for him. He has some decent attributes and if he showed them on a semi regular basis then that would be fine. But he doesn’t play to his strengths and is a constant source of frustration to watch. I know what he’s going to do every time he gets the ball so you can guarantee the opposition full back knows it as well.
The fact this is also getting talked about annoys me as well to be honest. Pep is a transparent dickhead. Of course he would prefer Southampton to turn up and ‘play’ and go head to head with his star studded side which he assembled at an outlay dwarfed only by the annual US Defence budget.
That way he could have an easy afternoon watching Aguero, Jesus, DeBruyne et al with all the space in the world to tear us a new one without the stress of waiting until the 96th Minute for a winner.
He ain’t saying it so that he can sit back and enjoy a lovely game of soccer as a neutral is he.
Its like a manager getting the arse hole with the opposition for not deliberately scoring own goals for his team.
