Where will we finish? Place and Points

The title says it all and it gives little room for argument as the League table doesn’t lie.

I’ve said before now 14th and I am sticking to that just about but the points may be lower and now I going for about 40-43.

So where do you think we’ll finish and what points? You can have a margin of 3 points.

20th with 8 points.

We’ll finish 6th.

Not because of good football, rather the fact that we bore other teams to sleep with our precise sideways, backwards, sideways, backwards style and eventually score(70th minute onwards) when the other team are in a semi hypnotic state.

Don’t dismiss it, unless you have a better plan.

Where will we be in May?

I think we’ll probably be up the end of Britannia Road next to the gasometers.

We’ll still be a mid-table Premier League club that has had a few great victories and some bloody awful days, with a new promising but ultimately disappointing cup run on our CV.

Barry, New York and one or two others will be ranting negative shit, some will claim we are on the brink of greatness, but most will accept that football is a rollercoaster ride of joy and misery, and that in the main it’s been enough fun for them to hop back on again.

We will have been crowned FA cup winners And next season will be our first foray into the Champions league albeit the qualification stages. VVD will have signed a new 3 year contract and has become the highest paid player in the clubs history. The bus tour around the city culminates in a masss piss up paid for courtesy of our new sponsership deal with a Chinese brewery

All is well with the world

We will finish above any team who would buy Stephen Davis and below all the teams that wont

I presume this is meant to celebrate the ‘most will accept’ fans.

The ‘most will accept fans’ will accept sideways football , owners making millions out of the club, negetive football, mid table shit.

I dont know many ‘most will accept’ fans but I do know if I was a businessman they are the sort of suckers I would want as customers

Go on then…let’s hear your masterplan for us cracking the top 4. Let me guess…does it involve us not selling any of our best players?

Well you’re fuckin’ deluded if you think that will satisy BS & NYS. They’ll still be here peddling their negativity at every daily turn (down-turns only of course) and making little of every success.

What is the option? If I become a ‘will not accept’ fan does that mean I have to support someone else? Or is it enough just to whine on forums?

Do I have to wear a special rosette and buy a dog to walk during games?

Oh yes a rollercoaster of sideways passing, negative tactics and a lack of goals.

I hope you’re not a stag do organiser.

A rollercoaster ha ha, this is turgid shit.

Ooh look…Bazza ignoring the bigger picture so he can conveniently confirm his prejudices.

What is the bigger picture?

Enlighten us as the club, board and manager haven’t.

Come on Guru, sage and font of knowledge what is the “bigger picture”?

Rallyboy’s rollercoaster point…you hopped on…just enjoy it instead of being a miserable cunt all the time.

Everything is going great. Considering the tough teams we have played to be 3 pints above the drop is not to be sniffed at. The two goals so far from open play must be a sign of optimism that the plans of the board are kicking in nicley. The manergerial choice is certainly testiment to the genious of the black box not to mention the plethora of academy players in the first team. Keoman obviously didnt know what he was talking about. We just need more supporters to appreciate, support and defend our mediocraty and seek out and abuse anyone who doesnt toe the party line (do this online just in case someone in the real world breaks your fingers for you)

I take your point NYS. I’m not happy about current results but again, what is the option other than throwing my support behind the team at games? How does crying about our form help? The life of a Saints fan is never going to be anywhere near similar to that of a Man United/Chelsea etc. fan. You have to wade through the shit to grasp the shiny bauble.

Is this a pap/toilet reference?

It may suddenly dawn on Barry and NY that they are on the wrong forum - they should follow Pap’s pioneering lead, follow in his little footsteps and put their money where there mouth is and set up a new one that hops weekly between armchair-supporting Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea, as none of those three are happy all of the time.

Or perhaps they need to accept that they have no grasp of the concept of being a sports fan?

Either way, they are a funny little sideshow that takes the edge of the frustrations of being a football fan.
